Lee

I don't understand why you have sugary treats? Why not substitute?
My long term goal is to keep the weight off guy.. I like sugary treats !!
If I cut them all out I won't stick to keeping the weight off.

To be fair most of my sugary treats are now replaced by a banana

Everyone's long term goal is to keep the weight off mate but a sugary treat here, a sugary treat there every day will snowball I can almost guarantee. As I've said before I'm probably the biggest chocolate fiend I know, can quite happily smash home a 250g bar of Dairy Milk in one hit or a whole tub of Haagen Daz.

I did it last year and for a while I would only have a crunchie at night or an ice cream and then it was a couple or both. Before I knew it I was back on the nutty bus eating bundles of the stuff and shares were probably rising by the day.

I only touch them at Weekends now, keep it to those 2 days a week and during the week if I want a sweet I'll have a protein bar/cookie. That way I feel like I'm having a treat when essentially I'm just having something that's reasonably good for me.

Guy is right that you're setting yourself up for a fall with the sweets every day, it spikes your insulin and then you'll crash so will want to wallop more carbs to get the rush back. Fair play to you if you can do it but given that we're all in roughly the same situation for a reason because we're not too good at skipping past the nutty drawer, the bar or the kebab shop I'd try to change it.

I'd say it's safer if you try and give yourself a day where you can eat a big bar or have a blow out on the sweets. Do it the day after a weigh in if you can though so that you're not going to be carrying a bunch of water weight from all the crap Cheesy

Might seem ironic that the Augustus Gloop of Blonde is giving advice on chocolate but I've done it myself so know the coup Cheesy

I would smash 2 grab bags of walkers crisps and 3 chocolate bars most days at work. Bags of harribo and jellys plus Mc D's etc thats all after having a massive unhealty dinner.

Ive gone cold turkey on the Crisps, Choc and Sweets and dont miss them tbh.

Now my treats are occasional Strawberry Trifle.

Today i had a Burger Chips and Onion Rings at the Pub. I usually have a Jacket Spud with beans cheese and a side salad but i fancied a treat.

Just had a bowl of special k so with the exercise ive done today that should maintain my weight.

So far ive lost 20lbs and have done it thru plenty of exercise cutting out the crap and odd occasional treat.

4lb to target loss so hopefully have that off in the next 2 weeks.

Was the same.  Used to say "sew a pair of tits on me and I'd be a woman."  Then I looked in the mirror and realised a few months of knocking in 250g+ of choccy every day meant that a needle was no longer required.

Haven't had any choccy since 31st Dec and really don't miss it.  It doesn't taste as good as feeling back in control  does, so I am just going to abstain from choccy, I don't think it will be hard to do.

Haha yeah not much diff here although I never used to do it every day, when I did get on it though it was a demolition job Cheesy

Ah I'll never give up completely, I've got protein bars/flapjacks which placate any urges I get during the week and at the weekend I bash some home. If it's something you're better off without then best thing to do is what you are for sure.
