Pretty good week - big blip on friday when one of my staff bought me a big toblerone and no one wanted to help me eat it (not sure whether to use a happy or sad smilie here!).

Most of the week's dinners have been courtesy of the hairy dieters - I should be on a commission from those guys but I can't recommend their stuff enough - new book out too!

Still a bit apathetic on the exercise front - registered last night for a 10k towards the end of November which should help me focus my arse into gear.

Starting weight: 10st 6.75lb
current weight: 10st 2.5lb
Loss this week: 2.5lb
Total loss: 4.25lb

Current Weight - 14 stone 3lbs.

Target weight 12 stone 7lbs.

Loss required = 1 stone 10lbs, which is 24 lbs.

Target date?

30th October.

Off we bloody well go again.

13st 6lbs this morning, so an 11lb loss in 4 days shy of a month.

The last week I've only lost 1lb, but I've not cheated, so it is what it is.

I'll not make the target weight by end of October, as I'm still 13lbs shy, & I cant do that in 5 weeks, so it looks like it will continue right up to Christmas.

No complaints, am feeling physically much better, except for constant tiredness, which is more age than diet related I think.

Hi all

Think I noticed this thread some time ago and liking your achievements.

Im trying so hard to eat sensibly and lose weight gradually ie cut our my sugar snacks and replace with fruit and eat reasonable portions instead of piling plate sky high.

I read Sid the Juicers views but to me seems that its not the way to go losing lumps each week - Im content to see 1 or 2 lbs per week and on a bad week maybe no loss as long as its a no gain too.

I started my 'return to sensible eating' campaign (I dont like the word diet as it seems to mean repetitious loss of weight then pile it back on only to start again) on the 24th June this year at 18st 12 lbs. As of yesterday down to 17st 6lbs and feeling for the first time in years that I can eat sensibly now and along with excercise, usually walking my lovely spaniel, will make it down to a healthy weight - not sure of what though - 14 stone - Im 5ft 11?

Next objective is 17st - a big motivation goal and after that would love to see 16 7 by end October and 16 by November.

Best wishes to us all in our quest.

May join in a little with this been on a bit of a weight loss mission for a year now trying to make lifestyle changes and not crash diet and have lost about 20KG in the last year. I rekon i have about another 20-30 to go before im at my optimal weight. Im hoping that i can do that by this time next year. Slow and steady as i said, im going to be having a prop bet at somepoint with my flat mate so when i get round to it i will post some details about that and how im "getting fitter and healthier"

13 stone 3.5lbs today, so a stone lost in just over a month. Very pleased.

12stone 10lbs by the end of October is the next target. Nearly there, then.

Back on the wagon as of last Tuesday.

Starting weight 14st 5 1/2lb.

Current weight 14st 2lb

Target weight... I dunno, what do you think?

Went for a run yesterday, first one in ages. Did 1.1 miles in approx 14 minutes.

Q: how do you regular runners measure your distances?

Ooh, good luck Tom. You know the deal, if your head is in the right place, it's easy.

You are where I was 6 weeks ago, roughly, I was 14stone 3.5lbs. Am down to 13st 1lb now, so 16lbs gone, & feel so much better already.

I have to find weird ways to visualise eight loss, so I turn it into 2lb bags of sugar. (Probably kilos these days).  Anyway, imagine carrying around 8 bags of sugar all day, every day, gets quite heavy eventually.

I having such a bad week - been out to eat twice last weekend, coupled with a visit to a food and drink festival ending up tasting all manner of delicious but not what I now consider to be good for me food.

More to come tonight culminating in a beer festival tomorrow and Im dreading the weigh scales on Monday.

Back to the sensible stuff next week hopefully.

A lot of us have GPS watches - like this: http://sites.garmin.com/forerunner610/?lang=en

You can always use your phone as well - plenty of apps available, such as runkeeper.

If you don't want to pay out for a GPS, or take/carry your phone whilst out you can you a site such as map my run where you can plot your run and it will calculate for you

About to explode, so thought it best that I rejoin the gang, and hopefully undo the damage that has been done over the last few months since moving house.

I've crept up to 17stone, courtesy of having Dominos on speed dial, and Haagen Daaz on 1/2 price at Waitrose!!

For starters, I want to get back down to 15stone before the end of January (again). I'm intending to eat a lot less red meat, and will be endeavouring to up my fish intake too.

Come on Milligan, get yourself back on the firm son Wink
