Just back from the gym and my starting weight is 17st 2lb. First goal is to lose 2 stone by August 1st, just in time for our 2 week break near Southwold. A two pronged attack with food and exercise. My main aim for food would be to stop eating snacks of an evening and to cut down on biscuits and cakes with tea and coffee which is a big achillie's heel for me. So after my evening meal which is usually around 5ish I'll just be drinking water. Exercise wise I'm quite limited, when I go to the gym it's only to use the pool, jacuzzi and steam room. As well as this I walk my dogs quite a lot but it's gentle strolling not power walking. I highly recommended anyone getting a Fitbit, I got one a few week ago and they really do keep you motivated, it's basically a posh pedometer, I've got one that stays on my wrist, I charge it once a week on the laptop via USB. I've downloaded the app to my IPad and set my target at 12000 steps a day which is roughly 5 miles. At the moment I'm not always achieving this, without boring you all to death I've been quite sick this past year which has meant I'm on long term sick from work and spent most of last year in hospital, I'm on the mend now but I've really got to be careful as my illness is very debilitating and I get sick fairly quickly if I overdo things, which could be as little as hoovering.
So just to summarise:
17st 2lb weigh in every Thursday
First aim to lose 2stone by August
Walk 12000 steps per day
Use swimming pool/Jacuzzi/Steam room at least 3 times per week.
No snacking after evening meal - just drinking water
Less biscuits and cakes with Tea/coffee max 2 cups per day.
Just in case anyone wants to know about them
https://www.fitbit.com/ukYou can get from Amazon so use the blonde link if doing so.
The Fitbit really is great, it monitors your sleep patterns, you can log you weight, set your target at whatever you want, log amount of food and water you drink. It sends you a weekly report. You can link up with friends and have a leaderboard ( gets quite competitive with the wife although she slaughters me doing at least 17k steps per day) Highly Highly recommend for anyone wanting to get fit.
