with you on sela

I really think you need a betfair account for this  ?

At the commission rate as it stands I'm not sure it's worth it.

Huge, huge hold from Paire there. Still undecided on the trade.

where you watching  it please?

All the streams are working I believe. Good site.

...for example...If a player is 1-3 at the bookies normally his opponent is 9 -4 ,this makes the fav  a 1.33 shot on betfair and his opponent exactly opposite that ie 4.0... so 3 -1 less commision...in this example you are giving up 3 quarters of a point on the outsider ?.. just think you are having to back the winning players and beat the bookmakers price which is hard work  especially betting on so many matches...Im not criticising just calling it as I see it

Don't disagree and completely understand.

I will no doubt further down the line start using betfair, but I'm currently using this whole thing as a bit of an experiment to see how I do. Used to follow a professional punter for some time and stopped doing it last year bar the grand slams so won't to know that I can first. Think by having to use the different bookies it makes me concentrate a lot more.

Plus I am an absolute sucker for drunk spin-ups and blackjack so by having money spread over several sites I'm doing myself a massive favour really!

Wawrinka -4.5 games @ 9/10 v Roger-Vasselin LOST - 1 unit
Seppi 2-0 in sets @ 11/10 v Garcia-Lopez WON + 1.1 units
Karlovic @ 6/5 v Youzhny (2 units)

Pre-match bets: 146.25 (-3.75)

Sela to win @ 2/1 (4 units) 4-6 down after 1st set WON + 8 units

In-play bets: +8

Total +4.25 units

Adding 2 units Karlovic @ 6/5 v Youzhny

Done for the day. Hopefully Karlovic pulls it out the bag, either way we are very slightly in profit on the whole.

What an arse Karlovic is. Was a break of serve behind and blew 15-40 in one game and 0-40 in another.

Morning.

After I answered, at some length it must be said - a question on here a day or so ago, several questions & comments were Posted, & I want to reply to them all, as I love talkng about punting & suchlike.

However, it's counter-productive to take a Tennis betting Thread so off-toipic, so I'm going to re-post my piece, & deal with all the questions arising from it, on my Diary, which is here.....

http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=25486.24720

I doubt I've ever bet on a Tennis match in my life, but I am loving this thread, & all the other specialist punting threads we have here (to a lesser or greater degree!), so respect to the Authors, & may they long continue.

As you were.....

Lol, no!

I wish I had - I think a few years in the Services would have done me, or anyone, for that matter, the world of good, there is little not to like about good self-discipline, it would improve pretty much everyone's quality of life.

Anyway, I really am conscious that my Post, & the comments from it, is taking this Diary a little too much off-topic, the last thing I had intended, but stick stuff on my Diary, & I'd expand at length. Great length......

Is anyone else laying Nadal vs Youzhny? 1.17 to trade should he not crush him?

If Red-Dog is still reading, this is the kind of bet that one wouldnt be sure of winning by any means. The bet essentially is not me saying 'I think Youzhny will beat Nadal', it's me saying, 'Youzhny has a good chance of not being crushed by Nadal'.

If he can get his nose in front at some point, the price will swing, and even if Nadal is still favourite at that point, it should be enough for me to at least bet enough so that I get my stake back, with the option to spread profit across both players.

Edit: Nadal started like a train! Hold on Youzhny!

I feel your pain as well.  Karlo had enough chances to win that final set twice over Sad

I have a cheeky feeling that Tipsarevic and Del Potro are going to have big years this year, and make up the top 6 behind the big four.  Any views.  Gonna have a chunk on both of them at the Aussie Open and trade them on the spreads if they do an outright index.

Sighmuns, not going to aftertime but not the worst bet in the world!

Dungbeetle: Karlovic did my tits in! That's life betting tennis unfortunately...

I think Tipsarevic is due a massive year myself. He ended last year so well and his win over an admittedly fatigued Djokovic at the tour finals was a really good sign for me personally. Think there's a definite trend in tennis whereby players are starting to become a much bigger threat a lot later in their lives; Soderling, Berdych and Fish spring to mind.

Don't think we'll see players at the age of 21 and 22 really start to dominate anymore.

Tomorrow:

Vesnina @ 85/40 v Pennetta LOST - 1 units
Stepanek @ 4/5 v Dolgopolov (4 units) LOST - 4 units
Stepanek 2-0 @ 2/1 (2 units) LOST - 2 units
Hradecka @ 9/10 v Zheng (2 units) LOST - 2 units
Kerber @ 11/10 v Lisicki (2 units) WON + 2.2 units
Schiavone @ 11/10 v Jankovic (3 units) WON + 3.3 units
Kanepi @ 11/10 v Petkovic (4 units) WON + 4.4 units

Profit: 0.9 units

Pre-match bets: 143.15 (-6.85)

In-play bets: + 8

TOTAL PROFIT +1.15 units

In-play Troicki @ 5/2 v Monfils 1-2* down (2 units) LOST - 2 units
In-play Troicki @ 4 v Monfils 1-3 15-40 (4 units) LOST - 4 units
In-play Monfils to win 2-0 @ 1.5 (10 units)  WON + 5 units

Will look to trade at first good opportunity.

A day of what could have been really. Was 6.9 units up when the Stepanek match started. He was a set and a break up, then go broken for 2-2 in the second set, then had a bp in the game straight after, didn't take it and Dolgopolov just ran away with it. Perhaps should have looked to trade out but felt Radek would be able to close it out.

Monfils just blew Troicki away. Super impressive given how poor he was vs Becker last night.

Total profit: 0.15 units.

In-play profit: 7 units
