Anyone know anything about Terrible`s Hotel and casino seems to have a good write up and very cheap if you forgive it the fact its a mile off strip. Also nice to stay somewhere who`s name matches my current form. Any news?

I stayed at Harrahs for one night a few years back because it was $600 for the Palazzo when I arrived. Good location, clean rooms and close to Panda Express, so what's not to love!
Steakhouses are in abundance, and there is a restaurant to fit every budget
My favourite steakhouse in Vegas would be either Cut @ Palazzo or Ramsay Steak @ Paris.

Nothing from personal experience, but unless you have a car I wouldn't recommend staying off the beaten path. The money you'll save on a room is likely to be eaten up in travel costs, and I think it's always worth a bit extra upfront for location.
That said, if you're out there for an age I wouldn't be averse to staying somewhere like Palms Place, or the other non resort places for some peace and quiet.
If you give us some dates and I'm happy to have a look to see what deals are about for you.

Cheers have stayed at the Palms the last couple of years but not much availability at the moment. Out for three weeks from 5th June leaning towards the Rio now as will play most of my poker there. Terribles about a mile off strip just seemed really good value.

If your playing mostly at the Rio and wont have a car probs best to not stay at Terribles as it is the other side of the strip. It will cost you in both travel costs and time

Might be worth looking at the Gold Coast if you're going to be playing mostly at the Rio, should save you a pretty penny on those prices and no cabs required too.
I just had a look on their site and you can get the whole 3 weeks for about £1k at Gold Coast for those dates, no doubt Terribles will be a couple hundred cheaper than that, but you'll be doing a fair bit on cabs there. As always it's all about what suits from a personal perspective, there is no correct way to go per se.

Stayed in Harrahs last year. Very central location. Rooms were fine, but dining options were limited, not too much of a problem given the options in the surrounding casinos. Poker room was OK for $1/$2, but the Venetian is just down the road.
Stayed in The Quad/IP at Xmas and played a fair bit in Harrahs next door. As Gazza says, a fantastic location - if not the best IMO. I've decided next time I go I'll probs stay Harrahs as it share location with Quad, but is nicer but still fairly cheap.
Dining within Harrahs I can recommend the cafe for 'Steak and Eggs special', think its served between midnight and 6am. Great value for cash grinders, tastes great and filthy cheap. I had a set 3 course meal (Sunday roast type thing) at 'Toby Keiths I love This Bar and Grill' which was very good value. But otherwise, loads of places on the strip.
Deepstack tourneys?
Probably been posted up before but:
http://www.allvegaspoker.com/tournaments.php
It's probably different during WSOP, but most tournaments were not worth bothering with...super fast structure and excessive juice. However I found the following deepstacks to be good (in order):
1.
The Wynn Sunday Special
(really well run card room, ipod/phone chargers at table, lots of action, stunning valets ). O and the best structure. At first glance it looks < The Venetian, as you get 10 k instead of 12k chips (I think). BUT the clock is 10 mins longer and there are 2 or 3 crucial levels left in that give
much
more play.
2.
Venetian Deepstack
Daily, staple diet.
3.
The Aria
Nice surroundings, evening deepstack.
thks lee,
i gotta note this stuff down
i'll save that link too, yeah it might be different as you say with wsop being on but still would fancy similar stuff going on. chargers at table yes!!
stunning valets
yeah the better the clock the more suited for me i think, heavy turbos not my cup of tea. 'tony keiths bar and grill' lol i'll write that down too. eating out might be a good option, i wana play poker alot but im not a fan of eating whilst playing.
is there any big rules that dont apply to poker here in england?
thks for advice lee, enjoyed reading it
YEAHMAN123 there a app in the app store for tha all vegas website buddy it got all the info about poker u will need

Looking to play either the ceasars $1080 main event or the golden nuggett $1080 main event at the end of my 6 week trip this summer. What does everyone reccomend i should play is 1 better than the other for structure and how many runners do you think either of these events will get.
Thanks Conor

Caesars will have a much faster structure with lots of levels missing, but they'll have a lot more runners and the first prize will be much bigger.
Here are the 2 comps last year

Cheers for the input appreciated. Stayed at the gold coast 3 years ago on the recommendation of a certain Stuart Rutter wanted to kill myself after 10 days the place was full of half dead Americans, put two together you got one dead American lol. Only plus ( and I took it as a plus although my liver did not ) was Padraig Parkinson stayed think we spent 22 hours in TGI`s one day. Looks like Rio for about £63 a night on Trivago ( plus resort fee !!!! ) good luck all going hope to see some off you there. x
