Travelex 'happy hour' between 11am and 1pm tomorrow.

Likely worth a gander.

Anyone with a house/flat and looking for a roomie?

I'm Mike, 29 years old, this will be my 4th wsop, grinding cash and mtts mostly at rio, like a good mix of partying and grinding but focus will be on grinding, relaxing and working out this summer. Been pro for 7 years so hopefully will be able to contribute to any strategy discussions.

Looking to be out there for about a month from the middle of june, would also be happy to do some swaps.

Budget about $70/night. PM for more information. If you don't have a place sorted already that's fine, I'll see what I can sort out.

Ordered the SIM from MrSim which arrived today.

As an fyi, on the Simple network, you won't know the phone # until the day it gets activated.  They switched me onto another provider which gives you the # a couple of days before your trip ~ kinda useful if you actually want anyone to know how to reach you.

They were offering 1.495 on US$ during 'happy hour' vs their current 1.489 rate today

Simon,  could you give me some info on this.  Me and my girlfriend tried to sort sim cards out last time we went to vegas.  Ended up paying a fortune for two at & t sims from a vegas mall. And still had to pay pretty high charges to text and speak to each other whist she was by the pool and I was at the tables.   What would you recommend we buy so that we can text and call each other on the cheap while we're over there?

If cheap is the main driver, go to Walmart and you can buy basic phones about $10 each and top up for another $10 each.  Will work fine for contacting each other.  At the end of the holiday, just throw the phone away ~ no hassle, no fuss.

I think I used Tracfone, but there were a couple of brands and you may be able to get similar in CVS etc on the Strip if you prefer.  I drive, so it isn't really an issue ~ the Walmart on S Rainbow is easy to get to and whilst there, stock up on water, coke, fruit etc.

dear lord prepare yourself for 1990s phones though for 10$. it's hilarious fun trying to remember how to use them!

there's a massive frys electronics just behind the south end of the strip hotels where you can get a bunch of prepaid phones in minutes.

I used the company Karl suggested for a US number http://www.simcardguru.co.uk/product/sim-cards-for-the-united-states/t-mobile-usa-pay-as-you-go-mobile-phone-sim-card

I just banged it into my old Nokia 8600, topped it up with $25 and still had credit left when I left 3 weeks later. The only downside is carrying 2 phones about, but I preferred that to the almost £500 phone bill I got in 2011!

the wifi is just so joke unreliable depending on where you are. Venetian was good, Rio was terrible last year.

Relying on whatsapp or viber is likely to make you want to smash your phone up when it doesn't work most of the time Cheesy
