The main problem with your proposed booking Lee is you're only going for a week. You won't want to come back, one week just not long enough.  Grin Grin Grin

Just looked at Travelocity for a friend who wants to stay in Vegas for a week in June.

For a giggle, I looked at the Stratosphere.

Eight nights: £68.

Total.

I'm still thinking no.

Yeah - I'd want them to pay me more than that before I'd stay there.

Lee,
Most of the websites have 360degree viewcams (of pool area, rooms, casino restaurant etc) so you can take a good look around and find one that will suit you and the missus.  Anything 5* is going to be very nice, so it comes down to personal taste.  During your trip, have a good look around and you will quickly gain a sense of where you'd like to stay on the next trip.

You've got Wynn/Encore, Venetian/Palazzo, Cosmopolitan, Bellagio, Aria as the obvious 5* picks.  If you don't get a sense of which one you like the best from the viewcams, just go on price.

Sorry Lee, I got sidetracked this afternoon and forgot to get on this.

Just looking at lowcost/ebookers/expedia, and you look to have a decent enough deal there for Bellagio, and the Wynn is around £2.6k with them all.

The flights on your dates are just over £900 pp so you're looking at ~£2.5k to stay at the Wynn and the same for Palazzo.

As Adam said, I would wait until after Xmas and hope for Virgin to chuck a sale on in January. That would probably freeroll you to Wynncore or even Mandarin Oriental

Even if they don't, I'm sure that one of the other places will be doing something, and you'll be to put a package together then.

Peace of mind is worth plenty imo, so if you're happy then snap it off mate Smiley

The flights on those dates are £900, so you're effectively paying £300 + resort fees for a week at the Bellagio, which is excellent.

I think last year Virgin had the sale around Easter time, so we all missed out by booking early. However, the year before they didn't have one, my mate left his flight until June and paid ~£1500 for it.

Don't forget that it's your honeymoon when you check in, and that Mr Benjamin is happy to reward good service... The kind that results in a nice high floor room looking out over the fountains.

This is just a personal opinion of course but we have stayed in the Wynn, Palazzo, Aria, Mirage, Mandarin Oriental, Harrahs & NYNY and in terms of price vs quality vs location Palazzo is the best, and at that price it's definitely the best!

Wynn is very nice but we had a few gripes with our room when we stayed there and it's obviously a bit more expensive than the Palazzo.  The Palazzo/Venetian resort also has so much to do and loads of bars/restaurants to choose from.

I will post more about restaurants later.  I think I posted something previously on here about them so just need to find it!

Not sure it matters because it's still a direct flight, but the flights Lee has been quoted for are not Virgin, they're Thomas Cook. You're right that Virgin are charging £200 per person more for their flights on the same dates from Manchester, but Thomas Cook are approx £720 each inc luggage.
