One twin and one double room @ PH is coming in at around ~£1700  for 10 nights. The same at TI is £1500, or you can do Vdara for £2k

That's 7th-17th of April.

Which site do you use Mark to search deals?

I think it might be a better idea to have a total re-think of the dates, because I really do not want to be paying over £1k & don't really want to go in a crappy hotel either for 10 days, Planet Hollywood just seems ideal, but if it's £1700 + flights, then it's going to cost me over £1700.

Are there any thoughts on Luxor?

Don't. Worse than Harrah's.

I check the cost of flights for the date, then I look through Smartervegas for direct deals and add the 2 together.

Then I do third party sites like ebookers/expedia/booking.com for hotels only and then packages.

Compare all of them and work out which is the best way to go.

That's between 3 of you for the hotel, so you're paying about £560 each for 10 nights at Planet Hollywood.

To fly with Virgin, you would need to go 6-17th April and the flights are £860pp.

There are often Virgin sales, but it's all a case of when they have them. Last year they had them around easter I think it was, so that wouldn't be any good to yourselves.

Big difference between 'need' and 'want', but for a bunch of young lads it is a great hotel. However, if it's not worth the extra cost, you might have to make do with Harrahs Cheesy

I've stayed there before and really liked it. Good rooms, good atmosphere in the casino and plenty of food options at all ends of the budget scale.

Just depends on the group you're with, Aaron. I massively prefer to stay somewhere really nice, fly direct Premium Economy and play a couple fewer comps. One of my best mates would happily travel with the luggage and sleep in the fountain outside Caesar's (or a Motel 8 ). Hence there's a compromise to be had.

I've been four times and stayed in Flamingo, Vdara, Aria and Bellagio. Others would think all bar one of those were a complete waste of money when it's just a bed, a shower and a safe. Horses for courses.

Edit: obviously I also save a few quid on drinks and open minded lady bars. Some people will have to add that to their budget Smiley

Cheers guys.

I don't want to do it on the cheap, but neither do I want to spend a fortune on it, so definitely not looking at bottom of the range hotels. Before having a good look at hotel/flights/packages today I thought it could be possible to have both in for £800-£900, at this point, I don't think it is possible! I think it might be best to wait for new year, have a look then, appreciate all the advice for a first timer!

Just looking for a bit of value in a decent enough hotel for 10 days & perhaps the dates aren't set in stone, but they suit me, personally.

The big one is flights. Get those for £600 in a sale and it's doable.

Then straddle only one weekend - Monday to a week Thursday or whatever - and you'll save compared to Friday to a week Monday.

Remember you will pay for taxis if it's a trek to anywhere you'd actually want to spend time in.

The hotel is simple - Palazzo

You all get in the same room, it's excellent and you won't be squashed.

It will cost you a bit more per night, but you're going to save money by not having to book 2 rooms.

You can't get a room at the Palazzo currently for those 11 nights, but you're stuck on the dates you can go because Virgin don't fly every day from Manchester.

One thing I dont get (except in cases of disabled people) - just fly from Manchester to London first thing in the morning. Cheap if you add it to your original flight and you get free brekkie. Plus flights are often cheaper from London and you get more choice.
