Grand Canyon, a show, a high end dinner, get hammered, do your bollocks when hammered, a trip to the rhino when your wife is asleep one night, I think most other stuff you will do by default anyway..

I don't think Vegas is particular a "must do" destination unlike say somewhere like New York. Drink a lot, eat a lot, gamble a lot and indulge your vices. It has a very other worldly feel to it especially the strip as everyone is basically on one and the outside world doesn't really seem to exist.

Yeah Grand lux at Venetian and there is a second one in the Palazzo is the best reasonablly priced dining I have found, eat there a lot when in town. Huge menu also, so would suit most people.

Annoying that they used to close the Palazzo one around 1, but the Venetian one is 24 hours. Obviously foot traffic is much heavier in the Venetian, but would have been preferable to just bowl out of there and upstairs, rather than trekking all the way back from Venetian Cheesy

Yeah, this is it for me.

Although I'm no longer a strip person, other than for the occasional meal etc.

Past couple of years I've used holidayphone, but if anyone is looking to change provider and is gonna be in the Vegas for an extended period, this is a decent reason for going for Three.

Got an hour before Mini FTOPS starts, so here is a list of some restaurants that I really like in Vegas, and some that are very well regarded by others.

Steakhouses

Cut @ Palazzo
Ramsay Steak @ Paris
Andiamo @ The D
SW @ Wynn
Vic & Anthony's @ Golden Nugget
Craftsteak @ MGM
Prime @ Bellagio
Striphouse @ Planet Hollywood
Hugo's Cellar @ Four Queens

Steakhouses are very subjective, so what I think is amazing might be crap to someone else.

I've listed mine in order of preference, but if you got 10 people to do the  same, you would probably have another 20 restaurants on the list Smiley

I would say that SW would probably be the best one to visit with the wife. I think the idea is to call beforehand and ask for a table outside looking over the lake*

*Weather permitting obv

Italian

I've not eaten at a great deal of Italian restaurants, but I've been to a few that were good.

Lavo @ Palazzo

Bartolotta @ Wynn

Lavo is decent, and Bartolotta is a very good high end seafood restaurant. I'm sure there are others here who can add more to the list than I can.

Just an FYI, some places are jacket preferred, like Prime. Fixe (also in Bellagio) is less fancy.

Wouldn't put Prime in the jacket preferred category myself. I think that's reserved for the likes of Guy Savoy, and Joel Robuchon

This is Vegas. You can eat wearing hotpants, a string vest and a kiss-me-quick hat. But I seem to recall there being a sign on the door about jackets being preferred. I've eaten in there without one on, but the majority were much more formally dressed.

You definitely see some sights, and it's a tad strange to see someone wearing shorts a t-shirt in SW.  I never wear jackets myself, but always make the effort to throw on a dress shirt and some shoes.

I think those signs are similar to the 'drink responsibly' ones though Grin

Whilst not as good as these I think Brio at Town square is a decent Italian at a very reasonable price
