Unsure if this is already mentioned, I've had a quick scan of a couple of pages.

Best value comps for $1k and under? Rio Daily Deepstack (with insane variance), or there is a spready with all the Vegas tournys on, usually Golden Nugget and Binions will have $200ish tournies most days with much less variance.  Pretend the buyin was $300 and get a proper hotel room with the change.

Good hotels near or on strip that don't cost world? - Inc gym, attempt at a semi healthy schedule is imminent. Stay somewhere fairly centrally on the strip for your first visit.  If you look hard enough, you'll find a really nice hotel for your exact dates for less than a shit-tip of a hotel that someone else recommends "because it is cheap"

poker player room rate tips? Most will have the qualifying conditions and rates on their website.  Usually 6 hours per day cash games, or a decent sized daily mtt buyin.  This can range from very good value, to volunteering for 6 hours servitude each day whilst paying a higher rate than was available via promo code with no obligation.  But often, (i.e. Venetian http://www.venetian.com/casino/poker-room/suite-rates.html) it is a pretty good deal, but not such a slam dunk that you shouldn't try and beat it.

Best attractions for 2015? You'd have to give more info in what you are looking for.  Best way in Vegas is don't be lazy, each day pick off 3-4 hotels and go explore them.

Best days out for 2015? Boat on Lake Mead.  Waterpark. Mt Charleston or Red Rock trail for a change of pace.  A pint in every casino downtown

Anything people would advise a Vegas virgin absolutely doesn't miss? Bellagio Fountains. Caesars or Cosmo buffet. Swanky steakhouse.  Tasting menu in Picasso. Some form of Cirque du Soleil show, too.

Pool parties anyone recommends? Wet Republic (MGM) and whatever the name of the one at Encore was.

Best club? Ask someone under 40 Sad

$$$ to sell? Depends when you are going, if late, then there will be some for sale on here.  You can work out how many you are taking, how much that would save you, and whether or not it is big enough difference to bother picking them up.

Public transportation in vegas??? It probably costs you £200 a day to be in Vegas for a week, direct flight and nice hotel.  It seems pretty pointless spending £50 (the quarter of a waking day you'll spend fannying around on a bus) get in a taxi or hire a car and spend more of the day doing things, rather than getting there!

Alamo are doing some really good prices on USA car hire (inc Vegas) at the moment.  Also 12% cashback via Quidco is available for the next 4 days, as long as you're happy to pay upfront.

We got a 7 seater on their Gold package (which includes 4 drivers, all insurances and tank of fuel) for 7 days for £222.  You only need to name 1 driver at the point you book.  You can add the rest when you get to McCarron.

Help please

Is my ESTA from last year still valid for this year?

I am blaming Mrs Typhoon for the next question

Did we get issued with any paper work or is it stored electronically?

Slightly embarrassed to ask these questions but its all her fault!!!

They last for 2 years from point of application, so it should be.

Easy enough to check on the site though if you enter the required details

Might have a chance at getting in to do some updating during WSOP time.

Any recommendations on cheapest place to stay for 7 weeks? I can hire a car if needs be.

If I've got to stay one place for 7 weeks, I'd want to be in a house...

Probably about the same price as the cheaper hotels, and you're not likely to want to top yourself after a couple weeks.

Went a little in our favour today, but not sure what the forecast is after the election etc.

VRBO a condo.  Sadly the last free room in our house went the other day Sad

Extended Stay is the cheapest that is close by.  I know that a lot of the media guys were there last year and it is just about walkable.  Other chains like Motel 6/Red Roof Inn.

I'd probably go for a condo/house tho.  Try and get a few of the media guys together and chop a car too.

You could get 3 in here if you someone is happy to go on the sofa....so $650/month.

A car for 7 weeks you are looking at about £900-1k.  Toughest thing with a car in that situation between 3 of you is what to do on days off/when people knock off early.  Cabs are pretty tough to get to come to anywhere off the strip for pick ups, easy on the way back but does get expensive.
