I think the Norwegian flights are on 787 Dreamliners. Very comfortable although I flew on Virgin to LA on one. Norwegian might have a different configuration.

Correct.

It's interesting to note that their ticket price of £179 INCLUDEs taxes & fuel surcharge of £133.50, so the cost of a 1 way ticket ex taxes & fuel surcharge is £45.50.  This excludes checked baggage, meals & seat reservation.

Makes you think, does it not?

Don't know if it's been mentioned on here before, but was just reading today that Norwegian aren't going to be operating any flights to Vegas over the summer due to problems with the 787s not being able to take off properly in the Vegas heat.  Apparently the issue is caused by the extra weight on board as they pack nearly 300 seats onto the planes compared with about 200 on other airlines.

It's incredible the number of passengers that Norwegian Air cram into their 787's.

"Norwegian packs 291 seats on to its Boeing 787 -8 models and 344 on to its bigger 787-9s. By comparison, United's 787-8 and 787-9 Dreamliner models seat 219 and 252 passengers, respectively.

Their Vegas service ceases in March apparently, & resumes in the Autumn.

They are giving off the impression of a bunch of cowboys.   Good luck all who fly with them.

For those with a passing interest in self preservation, the Citywings thread is interesting on PPRUNE.  Noel Hayes gets a mention too.

344 PAX on a 787 must be fairly intimate. Doubt Plump Percy would be very comfy.

The CityWing thread from PPRuNe is below. Blimey.

Nothing to do with Vegas, but I'm flying with Monarch next week.

Are they alright?

Probably.

They have had financial problems for some years now, but were refinanced to the tune of £160 million last Autumn, which seems to have stabilised them.

I'd trust them.

I would have used Ryanair, but the flight times were shit.

They are fine. A Little known fact is they used to be owned either directly or indirectly by the Italian mafia who used it to launder their money.....someone I know works for them.

Good work Marky.

Think just the Binions & PH schedules awaited now.

Think they're tinkering with the PHo schedule at the moment, and Binions is always last.

4th-5th-7th-11th

Running pretty bad, with a 3 day NLHE right in the middle of your trip, and then an 8game on the day you leave.

They normally have a good variation, in amongst the daily $160 comps.
