Hi there guys,
Thought I'd pick your collective brains on here, as it seems that flight prices have gone insane recently.
I won a Grosvenor Poker Colossus VEGAS package online last night, and part of the package is £1000 for flights/spending money.
I'm looking to take me wife with me when I go the dates are (2nd June - 9th June), but don't mind adding a couple of days onto the end if I can find the flights for the right price.
Any good tips on which sites to use, or when to book, or if any credit cards can garner loyalty points to use (we also have 53k avios points between us).
Thanks in advance,
Ben.

Indirect can save a fair bit of ££ Heathrow to Los Angeles then a 1 hour flight to Vegas ,or Heathrow to an east coast airport - not Skegness ! Minneapolis St. Paul's then get a Vegas plane ,I've done this in the past it's a bit inconvenient but money was tighter
Norwegian airlines are pretty competitive
Thomas cook direct from manchester ?
Plan ahead for next year n get a virgin credit card for all your spends to accrue miles here's a link I get a bonus of 3 k miles if you sign up

Lo cost USA .com
Plus the usual ones last minute trivago

Just going to page Stephen Hawking, to see if he can decipher all that, Tony
If you do a lot of gambling, then it's probably best to book the hotel direct.
If you're like me and just eat/drink too much, packages are often the way to go.
Just off to the gym now, but will have a play around with some dates on the sites when I get back.

£423pp return from Stockholm, 2 stops both ways. Obv factor in the addition cost of getting to and from Scandinavia but equally a chance to tag on a night in a (potentially) new place.
Or can fly Stockholm - LAX direct from 1st to 10th June on Norwegian for £400.
Or Stockholm - San Francisco 2nd to 9th for £332 via Manchester both ways, doesn't give you much wiggle room to get to and from Vegas though. It's an overnight layover in Manchester coming back so if you have checked luggage you can claim it and then sack off the last leg back to Stockholm the next day.

Never left it this late to book flights before. I heard there is usually an Easter sale? Pretty expensive atm. What's the GTO strategy? If you leave it really late what's the most it could be?

Strongly suspect it isn't flying Norweigan. Am hoping for a sale. Might have to suck it up.

Just had a look at its pretty expensive as you say! I think there is little harm now in leaving it for a couple of weeks until Easter to see what any sales might throw up.
How much could it get to? How long is a piece of string? A very popular leisure route any time of the year but obv demand is massive for the summer months. As above, leaving it this late might as well let it ride for Easter and hope for a decent sale fare.
Premium economy is 'only' £400 or so more around those dates so that might represent better value than shelling out £1100 to slum it down the back of the plane.

Think I'd sooner pay a grand, than save a monkey by doing a 2stop flight anywhere

Anyone had any experience using Airbnb in Vegas? Some nice looking places at very decent prices near the Rio.
Flights from London best part of £1100 atm :/ Is there an easter sale on usually or something? Usually got it booked up by now...
Anyone paying > £1k gets to fail their 11+ BuyMiles bonus at the moment can get you from zero to a rewards seat for £600, then a further £200 in airport jizz for £800 total. Less, for anyone already with air miles. Anyone not in possession of a flying club account, pls let me refer you so I get free miles, ty!
.
Remember this? Well, still this! Obv the terms will have changed and subject to dates etc which I haven't looked into, but here is a great way to start. They are changing the reward seats into peak/off-peak too, just to factor one more thing in. But a pretty good bet that you can hold out for Easter sale and then start from 0miles and GTO yourself in for less than the sticker price.
