Sounds like my last few years, or rather mine were make the last hour of day 1 Cheesy

I'm clucking to get out there, too. Haven't stayed a night on the strip since 2011, so looking forward to having a mooch around up there.

I'm waiting for myVegas to release their summer promos next month, and then I should be able to get 9/10 days at Vdara nice and cheap.

Hey Marky

I'm there from 10 - 20 June, but have yet to organise accom. Chompy told me to leave it late doors for best deals. But I'm all for getting stuff sorted so no sweats, so very interested in your mention of myVegas - what's that all about? Any links about?

Cheers

Not sure if you'll always get the best deals leaving it late, especially when you're going out there when 1/2m people descend on Vegas for EDC. I'm always looking at hotels, as soon as I know when I'm going, and normally book/rebook multiple times.

As for myVegas. It's a Facebook app, which is linked to MGM, which you can build up rewards/comps. I started it when it first came out years ago, so am pot committed, somewhat. I wouldn't recommend starting now, as they're starting to screw down, and you've not got long to build up any points. It's easy enough to start for next year, and you can get free stuff at the Hippoddrome, too.

Thanks for the advice. Was my initial plan, as I've always booked early before.

Anyway, after a couple hours trawling through various sites, am now booked!

Can't wait....

Haha, happy days.

I only get there the day before you leave, so hopefully you've won the world in the first week, and extend Smiley

You don't have to worry about things that don't concern you Mr Pearson.

I know that's my train of thought, for myself Cheesy

I'd imagine if you cash at one of the proper cardrooms you'll be good, but downtown is another matter.

Sent you a message, thanks Marky.

I thought "the strip" was a large street with all the hotels on it! So would have been easy enough to walk about the various different venues.

Will be playing some cash/ mtts, again wouldn't have any idea yet.

When you visit Vegas, you learn all about "scale".

It is a large street. Very large.

It would take, at a guess, 10 or 15 minutes just to walk from one end of Caesars to the other end.

From the Hotel rooms at The Rio, to the WSOP Cardrooms at the Rio is a 12 minute walk.

It can take 5 minutes simply to cross the road.

And the sidewalks are thronging with people, so you can't walk at a decent clip.

Got home yesterday walked my ass off.com
up n down the strip -flamingo to  miracle mile - cosmopolitan to Caesars - the forum shops - etc
it's pretty tiring n getting in the high 80 s temperature wise now

Just reading these posts made me realise what a lot of good advice there is on here for visitors some experienced some not

Just applied for my ESTA this evening for my trip next month, it is much more drawn out and question heavy than the last time I applied just over 3 years ago.

I'm sure back then it was just passport details along with a couple of other straightforward bits and pieces. Now its family information, employer information, point of contact in the US, various terrorist and identity based questions.

I just wanna gamble and drink, let me in Smiley
