I went last time I was in Vegas.

The views are impressive of Death Valley from Dantes View.

I would defo go up there if you get chance.

We ate in a diner in the Valley itself. Was pretty average though.

Did you drive there from Vegas, Rick? How long did it take - 3 to 4 hours?

Hi Tikay,

Yes 4 of us in a hire car. We went through Pahrump going to Death Valley and stopped off on way back at "area 51". Had a weird conversation with the guy running a bar there who told us the Russians had planted a bomb in his establishment. So funny.

Think it was about 2-2.30 hours each way from memory.

The scenery is spectacular in places.

I think Marky147 might be able to assist here....

We've booked 7 nights in Excalibur (I'm a peasant) from 29th May, direct through their website, so only paid a small deposit with the rest on arrival. This was done way back in September. Been looking at the prices on a comparison website and it looks like it might be cheaper to cancel and rebook through a 3rd party site (I need to do the sums), but on the confirmation email it doesn't say when the cancellation window closes. They only give me a number to call, and tbh even though I speak the Queen's English exceedingly well, I fear they won't understand my Yorkshire twang over the blower.

Any ideas on when this cancellation window might close to save me a phonecall across the pond? Smiley

Edit...looks like a 72 hour cancellation window after digging a little deeper.

Yeah, most offers will be deposit refunded if cancelled >24hours before check-in.

I always phone Vegas using Skype, it's very cheap, and some hotel reservation numbers are freephoen, too. Think I put a tenner on 5 years ago, and still have a fiver left.

I did 3 weeks at the IP back when I was grinding, so Excalibur will seem like the Wynn, in comparison Grin

Skype? We only got washing machines in Yorkshire last year.

We had the 'fortune' to be put up in Excalibur for one night 2 years ago when BA delayed us 27 hours coming home (hello 600 Euro compo), so at least we are prepared for the 'luxury' of it all haha tbh for the price (just shy of $300pp for a week including RF and all taxes), coupled with its location close to the casinos we'll be frequenting, makes it a no brainer for us. Obv will be spending as little time in the room as possible Wink

Most importantly its within reasonable walking distance of Blondies, for the $4 breakfasts, $2 pints before 11am and the all you can drink windows Smiley

Ha!

I think they've refurbed most of it, and they're trying to 'detheme' the place. Good luck with that, when it's inside a massive pyramid.

I'm returning to the strip for the first time since 2011, so am very much looking forward to seeing all the changes.

I'll likely not venture far from the resorts, in case someone nicks my scooter Grin

Isn't that the Luxor, not Excalibur?

ESTA help please.

When completing online they ask for contact info in the US, allows you to put "unknown" and I would like to ensure we got ESTA approval before booking hotel and flights. There's nothing in our applications that should bar us but can't be too careful

Have never completed a VISA/ESTA type thing before.

Anyone completed this before using "unknown" as details and been accepted previously?

Bit of a fastball decided just today that my son and I are looking to travel on 9/10th June for Day 1b of milly maker tourney on 11th.

Just put down 'unknown', should be fine and its an option for a reason. If you have no skeletons in the closet then you should be approved without problems.

Note that when I applied for mine the other week, they didn't send an email confirming it was approved. I had to check back via the government website to ensure it was all gravy, so just a heads up about that.

You can change the adress in US after submission, so it may be better to just put down where you are hoping to stay.  I wouldn't be in any rush to give them a reason to put you on the next plane back.
