I wonder if anyone can help with an idea or suggestion.

I’m in Vegas from 7th to 15th July with my wife and it’s our wedding anniversary on Saturday 14th, so I’m looking for something to do out there to mark the occasion.

It doesn’t have to be particularly special or expensive (but it can be), but it does need to be in line with a tradition we established  a few years ago based around wedding anniversary themes.

For example,;

For our 6th anniversary (Iron) , we spent a weekend in Ironbridge, Shropshire
For our 7th anniversary (Wool) , we went spent a weekend in Poole , Dorset and visited a nearby village called Wool. We have a photo by the village sign.
For our 8th anniversary (Pottery) , we spent the weekend in Stoke on Trent
For  our 9th anniversary (Willow) , we didn’t go away for a weekend but I found  a restaurant in Southgate called Willows
For our 10th anniversary (Tin) , we thought of visiting a Cornish tin mine, but I didn’t organise it in time, so we visited the London Metal Exchange and had lunch nearby.

Different lists have different themes but the one we use has this year’s theme as Steel. If we weren’t going to Vegas, I’m pretty sure we would have spent a weekend in Sheffield.  Given we’re in Vegas on 14th I’d like to find something connected with “Steel” It doesn’t matter how loose or tenuous the link is ,as long as we can see a connection. It’s a tradition and  a bit of fun really and something that allows us to remember what we did each year.

Any ideas welcome

http://www.curtissteel.com/ Take her to the sales and showroom on Wynn Road.  I've no idea why... but it's in keeping...

Helicopter over to see this

Probably best to drop the Steel theme for lunch... but this might work

More steel here

Dinner in Hugos while you are down there.

Steel-cut Oatmeal @ about $10 a bowl. Cheap and topical. Put the rest on no.19, never fails.

Eiffel Tower restaurant @ Paris.  Romantic setting, Bellagio fountain view.  Can't really get turned over on the lunch menu, general opinion was that the dinner menu wasn't worth the $$$$

For those that would like to speed up US immigration process... the old advice was always:

a) travel in an upgraded cabin for priority disembarkation
b) pre-select a seat as close as possible to the exit (i.e. don't sit at the back)
c) Have your stuff all up together for a swift exit

Coming soon, a new option to fast-track the immigration lines, not the worst money you can expect to spend on a trip to Vegas... Global Entry
