Thanks marky! Oh by the way I got the location of the house wrong....it's 6 miles west of the strip! Doh! I'm guessing that's nicer? In the Spring Valley district. Looks very suburban.

No idea unfortunately, I would guess that Simon will know though. I think that most of the houses that hire out during the WSOP are in good communities, and quite often gated too.

Just a quick question:
ESTA registration.

Do you need to take a copy of this with you for getting through immigration?  I'm pretty sure its not required, but was told last night that it is now.

I just take a copy of the number in my phone mate, but it may have changed since last summer.

Spring Valley is actually a pretty big area, so there will likely be good and bad spots, but in general I think it would be fine and would take whatever you have there blind over 6 miles East Smiley

Travelling to Rio will be a lot quicker as you now don't need to cross the Strip, but it would still be a good idea to rent a car, in fact depending on how many of you are there, probably makes sense to rent multiple cars.

I'm a bit OCD on travel plans and even I haven't printed out an ESTA.  If it is now a requirement, I haven't heard about it.  But 20 minutes prep can save you some ballaches on travel.

1. Photocopy of passport and DL. I've never needed to use it, but I know someone who lost their passport and said that having the photocopy sped up the process.

2. E-ticket This is the first year I won't need it as I think you can now carry this on your phone and they will scan it.  (I'm going to x2 check this before I go tho!!)  Edit:  Looks like you still need a paper e-ticket, but for Virgin you can get your boarding pass sent to your phone rather than hard copy.  (Would be better if e-ticket was the same too)

3. Hotel confirmation rates I have needed this twice.  Once when a hotel refused to believe I had a booking and once when they tried to convince me my nightly rate was much higher than it was until I showed them and they backed down.

4. Medical Insurance documents Needed the E111 a few times, but obv that is no good in Vegas.  Thankfully never needed so far, but anyone needing treatment will definitely be needing proof, as well as contact info.

5. Car hire voucher Obv useful if you hired a car on a voucher Smiley

6. Proof of entitlement to funds Whilst having $20k on you isn't a problem, being able to provide a bank statement or withdrawal slip etc will at some point help you out.

7. ITIN number  Just in case...

It's only a few pages of A4, only takes a minute or two to produce, assuming you are taking a laptop etc will sit flat against the laptop and not be an inconvenience, but could save you several hassles at the other end.

I don't have copies of my passport or DL, but I do have an inventory list of everything to check off when I'm packing to leave. Only started doing this after leaving my suit in Vegas one year Cheesy

ITIN number?

Individual tax identification number.

If you cash big you will need this to claim all of your winnings tax free, you can claim them at a later date but need to apply to the IRS etc.

ITIN number?

If you cash in a WSOP event for more than $5k they will sort it out for you there and then, but some cardrooms can be awkward about things and just withold the funds.

I think the Bellagio/Venetian will issue you with one if you ask nicely though, so it shouldn't be a problem.

I've got one from years ago, but have no record of it and need to get one for myself this year. I'm going to be playing at the Nugget, they are one of the places who won't help you sort one out and prefer to just withold funds.

Just do what I said in the last post and you should be fine, I've got to get myself one as I can't remember what the ITIN I was given in 2006 is.

Getting cash back LOL... You'll have to ask someone else about that Smiley

Unlike everywhere else you've been to play poker, Las Vegas is full of distractions and opportunities to donate to the community.
