The Palazzo is the only hotel where I would be ok sharing with 2 others, and the rooms are that big it's not a problem, but I understand.
If you can move the dates by 4 days, it would be part of the battle, but I'll have a look and see what I can find now.
Just confirm that direct flights are required?

yeah definitely direct in a fairly decent hotel.
I can move the date by 4 days, but it weirdly looks more expensive.

Unfortunately you're not getting a decent hotel and direct flights for a grand mate.
I can see 10 nights @ PHo with a direct Virgin flight for ~£1.3k

Venetian for 10 nights at the end part of Febuary is £1948 and dates look OK to me, would you say this is decent?

so.... £1k too much in April, how does £1900 in Feb sound?
I'm amazed Mark has replied as many times as he has tbh. I think you are making things much harder than they need to be. Your friends seem to be one large red herring in all this, as presumably their package is fixed, they aint moving, they aint changing.
So it boils down to how much you actually want to fork out, there aren't too many decisions to make. Direct v non-direct (and you have the dates, so skyscanner will give you those #'s in 5 seconds) and pretty much everyone on this thread would recommend direct.
Next you have hotels. Harrahs is a shit hole. So is Flamingo. Palazzo is really nice. PH fairly nice. Nothing wrong with someone choosing an option to meet a budget, but you don't seem to know what your budget actually is?
My suggestion would be to fly direct and stay at the nicest hotel you can reasonably stretch to. Once you have some solid dates and a solid budget, the rest is easy, and that's where others can help. But at the moment, there's no real point until you actually get a good idea of what you are going to do?

Perhaps you need to realise that it is my first time going & I'd like some advice? This thread is called
Vegas Trip information
, just checked it twice to make sure too!! Although I do appreciate your analysis on the hotels, was considering Harrahs.
Although I should have mentioned the above price is for two people sharing & for direct flights from London.

We are here to offer advice. But you do have to meet at least half way. It's great fun taking a look for hotels for someone and then they decide to tell you that the place MUST have an ice rink in it...
I don't think either Mark or myself can be accused of not providing a ton of advice (and free time) throughout this thread.
So my advice stripped down was as above. First, get a really solid idea of what budget you have and what dates you are travelling. The rest is easy. It really is that simple.
For instance, someone that must keep to a £1k budget, wants a 5* hotel spanning 2 weekends and direct flights...it's going to be impossible.
The best we can usually do is point someone towards an identical trip 2 days before/after for £300 less. Or a planned trip staying at Harrahs, we might be able to get a much better hotel for the same money.
If someone is on their first trip, my advice is to stay central-ish strip in as nice a place as their budget will allow. On that first trip, take a look around and you will get an idea of where you like/don't like for next time. Once someone has pretty firm dates and budget, there are plenty of people on here (including myself) that will give advice tailored to the remit.

Let's be real Aaron you don't have the budget to meet your expectations so either you increase your budget or lower your expectations.
Also maybe consider a better attitude to someone like Simon who has a wealth knowledge about Vegas and is very good at succinctly giving advise on here.

yeah I know, but it's becoming frustrating, so I have decided not to bother going now, as it's becoming too much hassle, they can sort it out between themselves. I had decided on £1k for April, then a Febuary date was suggested at 2am today & now they want to up their hotel because it's so much cheaper in Febuary. The room was for them, not me & I have to put up with single costs as it seems.
Spent at least 6 hours searching last night & I would love just love Vdara in Febuary. I have £800 Febuary budget, £1000 April budget, boith can be tweaked slightly, but not too much, sadly coming too much bother.
But thanks to Simon, Marky & Co for help, can obv tell I frustrated with the search.

Wait until they are going to book, and then you can sort yourself out.
Alternatively, push the Palazzo between three of you, which is the best idea by a way imo.
It's honestly like having 3 lads in an apartment and shouldn't be any problem at all unless one of you is a scranbag.
If you can't talk them into that refer to line 1

English themed hotel, run by Americans....
Have only been in it to go through to other places, but I'd be amazed if it wasn't giving you decent sized rooms for good prices. Never gets mentioned here, I don't think (like NYNY). It is quite a way down the strip, so not first choice if you're going to play poker at Venetian.

Excal is pretty cheap.. but for a reason. Whether or not it is right for you depends on what you are looking to do and your circumstances.
For instance, if you think you just stumbled across an amazing deal at a swanky hotel.... you didn't. It's universally considered to be a dump, and there is very little on-property that is going to be enjoyable.
If you thought it was an ok-looking hotel at a great price... then that's a reasonable take. The "widescreen" rooms were more recently renovated and are ok for a basic hotel solution.
The good new is, used properly, this thread will probably turn the Excal into something much better for you. If you come back with "20-27 Feb, flying direct LGW-LAS, widescreen room in Excal for £xxxx.xx" then someone on here will probably be able to find a deal where you could stay at MGM/PH/Mirage-type properties (i.e. a decent improvement) for the same price.
