Looks like the Venetian have one out already, but just not made any noise about it.

I wonder what 'old school registration' is?

I'd imagine what it was at the Vic, back before the GUKPT started 'In your seat at the start'.
I remember playing a festival in London about 15 years ago now it must be. I was quite pally with Pokerkong, back when Ladbrokes was a big site.
He and LuckyULSA came over with a couple others, and some of them had to go get some shoes so they could get in the Vic. By the time they'd got some shoes and been allowed in, the comp had started, and they were disqualified

Will keep an eye out and see what the corporate bods on VMB are saying.
Do they own anything in Vegas already?
Is Tropicana them?

Not that I'm aware of.
No, Tropicana is owned by Bally's these days.

Ahhh, that's it.
I guess they're trying to get their foot on the strip, and that seems a decent place to start.
Leaves MLife a bit light on the north end of mid strip, though.

I'd clean forgotten about the days at The Vic or Luton where they turned you away if you were wearing trainers or a t-shirt.
Ian "Belly" Oldershaw turned up at The Vic one night wearing a t-shirt so he got turned away. The only shop open was Woolworths which had a children clothes department, so he purchased a shirt labelled as "for 10-12 tear olds". Ian was a chunky sort and the buttons would not reach, never mind do up, but it was a collared shirt so they let him in.
I lost count of how many players got turned away from Luton for wearing trainers or trackie bottoms.
I actually thought a reasonable dress code was a good thing.

Luton was the funniest. I mean, really? Come on now, do me a favour
I could understand the likes of the Vic, Sportsman, Palm Beach having one, though.
The in your seat before first hand was gone by the time the GUKPT came around, or maybe a couple comps in?

Semi old-school registration then

Yeah, it was about that time, or slightly earlier.
Trumper, sponsored by 365 Media (I think?) was seconds late at a big Blackpool Event & even though he had paid in 24 hours earlier he was disqualified, and it happened to Rob Yong at Gala Notts, which indirectly led to the founding of DTD, via all sorts of legal battles.
