The above link is a blog post written by a former housemate of Krantz and Whitelime. The main point of the post is the video, and how it highlights the minute difference between making it, or not. You definitely seem to be improving in terms of performance everyday John. Keep it going and you will definitely make it.

With 28,000 PGA pros, most teach, 100s of golf schools and there are MILLIONS of videos, yet only 255 players have won money on the PGA tour this year (and the season is almost over).

Let me say that agin, only 255 players have won money on the PGA tour.

At this high level, all those players have physical skill sets where the average golfer could not tell the difference. If you played one round with the top 500 golfers in the world, you would be awe stuck on how they hit the ball. You would also likely not be able to tell the difference between them all. Yes, some do drive farther, putt better, ball strike better than the others but when it gets to that level the differences are subtle. A lot of golf is mental.

If you do not think so, just think of leading the British Open only to bogey the last four holes to lose it on the final day. Did Adam Scott suddenly not have the physical ability for those last four holes?

Poker is all about mental performance. Make sure you don't pull an Adam Scott.

I think I have a decent attitude, I definitely take the 'swings' on the chin as much as possible.

I'm doing a separate post for this because I want to make it clear and keep it simple.

I think over the last 24 hours one small thing has made a big contribution to my ability to play 'through' a poor game performance and be more objective about each pot i play.

It is very simple.
It is something we all do.
It is something that needs its own respect.
I commonly do this with many things in life.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have only really in the last day thought about "what is the most +ev way to play this hand this time, on this table, with this opposition from this position"

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It seems insanely obvious, but to make it a self standing individual thought. And to respect it as such, is new to me.

that is all.

(currently winning a lot in todays session).

Just around now properly after hectic stuff.

Fwiw ur post above is what is known by a lot as doing a Pleno. Basically just doing whatever is needed to win a pot and throwing balance out of the window.

Some problems..

You've got to be realllllllllllly good and understand post flop well
You've gt to know when to just sigh and check even if it seems a good spr you've just got to know
You are playing on stars and thus can't change your sn as easily as you can on euro sites
It throws balance out of the window a lot

A spot from tonight was I open btn, good reg calls bb. I cb ak6 barrel 9 turn and 4x lot jam 6 river with aq because he was so capped.  Never really doing it as a bluff but he's just not going to call.
Logged

Worst playcalling I have ever seen. Bunch of  fucking jokers . Run the bloody ball. 18 rushes all game? You have to be kidding me. Fuck off lol

Right, by that I mean there are times I flat xx from the blinds, but when i 'feel' like it I'll 3bt and I'll even fold others.

There is still some inconsistencies in my play, which like you say will result in an unbalanced game.

I don't mean - 'how can i win this hand'.

I actually mean, "what is the plan for this hand?" (and why)

Sucky start to October..

http://wt.ag/V88HHx
rather unfortunate.. didn't even flick an eyelid when this happened.  - has to be a good thing it doesn't affect me.

http://wt.ag/V88Jzc
sigh... at least some people are getting in worse than QQ+... Cheesy

http://wt.ag/V88Mel
big mistake.. wasn't concentrating properly at the start of the session apparently.

http://wt.ag/V88QuC
this is close..  I don't love it, but this guy had a 3bt of 10% over 200 hands or so, and obv 88's plays really well vs that range in this spot.. even if he only calls with QQ+/ AK
Still, its optimistic at best...

http://wt.ag/V88RPj
hmm.... unsure.
people will likely have pair + draw combos a chunk, a lot of 10nl players I've gotten into this situation vs have A7, BUT there will also be a lot of times they just have a set.
interesting that he has JJ here. - confirmed online sicko.

http://wt.ag/V88W5x
i didn't like much about this hand, and I'm not suprised at all to see QQ here... probably burned some $$ in this hand.
