A range merge is when you expect to fold out some hands that beat you some of the time, and get called by worse hands some of the time.

Not a chance mate, its a
(or similar) board, he can bet/call AK, AQ, KQ, KK, QQ, J10 and more im sure. I dont think he should be saying he doesn't is crazy.
Just got to the Vic, sat down on a 1/2 and looks like a good table from first guesses.
EDIT - table is amazing! No bluffs going on here for sure.
Im sat next to Teddy KGB's nephew. Gl me

Right, and sometimes a player will hero with a one pair hand, and sometimes they will fold some 2p hands because of the one liner the river brings.
by the definition above that is a range merge.
Either way its a value shove I wouldn't have made in the past, but being range aware I knew it was +ev even though he can sometimes have a 10 himself.

The concept of Poker according to one of the countries best players (not me ofc!);
Fold the Bad Cards.
Hold the Good Cards.

I remember you telling me this before. Its a lot of wisdom rapped up in a neat little box. Maybe I should write it down on a post-it and give it to myself for Xmas.

Still here and back to my peak... Got a 4wide pyramid of 5's and 1's. with some 25's on top.
next time I get into a 4bt pot IP vs a fish and flop a FD, I should just bet and shove. NOT check back, improve and let him cc one bet for his gutty.
But value bet my way back up and cruising again.

You must have been tilting the whole table asking for change every 5 minutes to get that pyramid on the go!!!

I wouldn't normally try so hard, but didn't have another opportunity I could wait for. I wasn't ready to surrender what I WANTED SO MUCH, that easily, I couldn't guarantee a call with me staying stoic and relying on a flinch "top pair" calling reflex.
