John, you're a legend. We should play a really small stakes HU match one day lol
A few things to think about.
You always say in your reports, "Must not bluff" "Next time I get a X hand I'm going to do Y and Z with it" and so on, whereas it's obviously very good you're analyzing your mistakes post session this isn't necessarily the way to think about it... (note: this is r.e LIVE deepstack play, not online i have no clue about that lol)
The truth is you
should bluff sometimes, but not the way you have done in the past, each poker hand is like a story and at every juncture you need to think what your hand looks like to your opponent and what his hand looks like to you, you're going to find spots where you're telling such a good story, and he clearly has a weak hand and
these are the spots we wanna be bluffing in,
Few points about these spots;
1) They create themselves as a by-product of your play - YOU DON'T CREATE THEM
2) They are pretty rare, most of the time you shouldn't be bluffing because there range is too strong or the "story" you've sold isn't good enough
What you don't need to do in live poker games in go around setting up spots where you can 3x pot the river and get him off TPTK or trying to set up for bet/bet/jam etc this is deepstacked play and it's more complex, don't force it.
So in each hand just think about the overall "story" but
YOU MUST be composed and disciplined enough to recognise
BAD spots as well as good ones and don't get stubborn or needlessly fancy, and make the best plays on the merit of the situation and your overall strategy.
One crucial difference in Live and Online poker is that, whereas it's often slightly easier to play live, your bigger mistakes in live poker will get punished a lot harder, cos you're much deeper and dealing with a totally different dynamic of play. Good focus is effectively one of the most crucial elements for live play imo.
You should try persuade Stu "Honeybadger" Barnett to coach you for live NLHE cash games imo, althoguh I think you'd drive him banana's
