but why would you barrel qjx in a 4bet flop? hes never folding turn/river.

even cold 4betting a2s sound like huge huge fancy play syndrome and just no need.

Have said this over and over, was fortunate the guy had his holding in the spot and the board rollout was perfect, his range was AQ TT - hadn't seen him get ool or get to showdown with any sub par holdings let alone in 3bet pots.

And there's no need to 'balance' with bottom of your range in the pot its QJ3 6, if he's calling flop he's just never folding turn so just tank check and try to get a free river as a best case scenario - and don't be tempted to barrel a brick. The idea of the game is to make optimal decisions on every STREET as you know, the objective isn't to win every pot by any means necessary! Just because a 2x pot gets through 66% of the time or w/e there really is no need to risk it in these games.

But it was a pretty brutal session in every way yesterday, win it all this weekend though and don't try to force anything! We're playing in 1/1 1/2 games with people donating not 6 awesome regs and 2 tight fish where we have to go creating spots ourselves. Or carry on as you are but really work on your mental game - with the style you have been playing some sessions are going to go really really well and some are going to go horribly playing 3/4/5 and putting in overbets and barreling off at every perceived opportunity.

The losing I dont mind..

What made me blow is this
- this particular villain 3 outed me in strandardish spots 5 times. (I counted)
- he then turned a bare gutshot vs the top of my range with a massive fish in the pot (reason to not peel weak draws) and he still didn't get my stack, why peel if ure going to get nothing when U do......Huh?
- he then dumped it all off to a nit who had a most obvious set and did not deserve a double up or any action.
- he then peels a 4bt and flops a pair that might not be good, and a semi bluff from me doesn't hit.. Its the 3rd or 4th time I've made this same bluff.. I have 10 clean outs on the river, I am supposed to get there sometimes...
- I was being constantly needled by a good friend which altho harmless onits own definitely contributed to the 'blow'

It took a LOT.

I have got and read 'the mental game' twice.. Best poker book ive read, said it before, plenty.

Going to London today to find softer games... Will not be bluffng much, if at all.

Need to save Xmas.

Also, welcome to the live pokeys! Enjoy the swongs. By the way, please please please bare in mind the word range brings this to mind in most of your villains head.

Welcome to the pain.

Sat in the Vic now, able to buy in a little deeper due to someone having a big stack. Looks like a decent table..

Not sure if I can win if I keep playing hands like this..

Btn raise to £10 (1/2game)
I call SB , BB calls, woman who limped calls, CO calls and we see a flop 5 way.

FLOP

I check, BB checks, woman bets £50 from 225 stack, CO folds, Btn folds, I fold, BB folds.

She declares two pair..

Meh.

YOU FOLDED? why, what?

Btw really bad call pre-flop great spot to 3bet if you feel really inclined to do anything but fold.

You really need to be way way tight out of the blinds with deep stacks it's so hard to play OOP deep even against weak players
