Just an update for the Joe Root backers:

Gary Ballance has been assessed and just has bad bruising on his wrist, not sure whether he'll be able to bat in the second innings just yet...

Thanks Joe.

I certainly don't want to rejoice in Ballance's regrettable injury. Then again, I don't think I'll complain too much either......

England will be batting again soon, it seems. A very uncharacteristic mistake by Root in the 1st innings, be surprised if he does that again.

latest is he will bat in normal position. root was a bit over-confident, should knuckle down this time with so much time left in the game

Bet in League One tomorrow which perhaps Tighty would give a view on.

A good friend of mine has been making a few quid backing Crawley at home in recent past and I like them too at home to Coventry tomorrow.

They are good at home, small ground against a bigger club who have had an awful season.

They are 11/5 with Tikay's employer and 21/10 elsewhere.

Definitely value to me. Suggest £15 on Crawley.

It's all happening, England 13/2, Cook and Trott both back in the pavilion, Ballance and Bell now at the crease.

18/3, Bell out.

Ballance and Root together now, so the perceived advantage Ballance had batting at 3 is negated.

Decider at the Crucible, which bodes well for Murphy, whoever wins.

What an oustanding risk-free little plant to begin that winning break too.

I never imagined he would even attempt it.

good luck smurf tomorrow.  No discussion of hedging either!  Prices look spot on to me.

Ballance began the innings 49 behind Root, who added just 1 today, so I think we need Ballance out for less than 50.

Smiley

We are on Murphy EW, so I think we can afford to be brave.

Should be a corking final.

took ballance over 37.5 runs at close of play tonight to break even on root bet. double bink if he gets out in the 40's, and i'd quite like england to win so would rather be cheering him on tomorrow than wishing him bad. an option for those who didn't hedge with ballance top runscorer in the first innings
