Counting under way in the FIFA Farce.
They have some nice French music playing in the auditorium. "Non, je ne regrette rien" might be appropriate in the circumstances, mais non.

2nd ballot, will still be the same result?

I think it was 103-73 to Blatter.
I can't see any reason why the 2nd round would be any different. If there were 3 or 4 candidates, the 2nd round is more significant.

133-73. Not even arbboy can bok this one.

Agree on the comedy second round

Why don't some of the big guns such as England, Germany, and France withdraw from FIFA and start up a rival organisation?

It might mean a few years of hardship for the national FA's but it would surely bring about the downfall of FIFA in the end.

That happened in chess in the nineties: Kasparov and Short (backed by a few) decided to form their own rival chess organisation to FIDE and played their match in 1993 in London. Kasparov beat Short and then Anand a few years later. The PCA couldn't organise a second match, Shirov was robbed his chance to be world champion and the PCA folded, leaving chess reluctantly united again.

Kasparov continues to battle with FIDE and corruption allegations are second nature to the top level of chess these days.

FWIW, the PCA champion for those years - Kasparov - is considered almost universally to be the world champion.

Shameful

Would have been happy to lose money tbh. But thanks to whoever put it up, regardless.

How can people think that all that corruption went on right under his nose and he knew nothing. And if he did, then he is incompetent. Sad, sad day.

His time will come.

My guess is he does not survive the year before being indicted by the FBI.

Then he is going to feel unwell.

Those press conferences are so comical. He really lives in cloud cuckoo land.

Was hoping to see the FBI arresting him during his speech.

I was hoping for Kanye West.

He knows how to sort out an acceptance speech.

Swift Hoffman (our geryhound derby pic at 50/1) is safely through winning his heat in a slow time in a messy race from a bad draw for him.  20/1 now with hills for the derby.

I think it was Disreili who said democracy is two wolves and a lamb deciding what to have for lunch.

not often you get the chance to pull tal up for poor spelling.

must try harder.
