There are 13 players on Betfair who are currently less than 100/1 for The Open. Just ten are less than 50/1 and just eight are 30/1 or less.

If they were all betting 1/5 1,2,3 this would look like an OK ew event but Ladbrokes have decided to stick with 1/4 1,2,3,4. This means they are massively overbroke on the place side of their book.

It really doesn't matter which of the top ten you back ew you will be getting value.

I do think that Tiger is a bit short and I'm not a massive Scott fan so the four I like are McDowell, Kuchar, Lawrie and Duffner. I have backed all four at different times and I'm sure to back them some more until they change their terms.

For the thread though I suggest the two players who are the best value in the win book of these four.

Kuchar is trading 20/21 on Betfair to win and can be backed ew at 20/1 with Ladbrokes. I have done this but I don't think it is the best bet I've had today. He is quite erratic and I believe he has a bit of a cold.

The bet that I would like to suggest as a MAXIMUM ew is outstanding value.

Graham McDowell trades at 16-16.5 on Betfair but can be backed with Ladbrokes at 16/1. The place bet should be around 11/4 to me and you are getting 4/1 with four places.

 I have lumped on.

On.

Best terms and best odds, an irresistible combination.
I still can't bring myself to go wilder than £40 e/w with tikay's money, though.
Don't worry, he will be back in charge soon.

Bad Beat   Ladbrokes      Golf   The Open   McDowell e/w   16/1   £80

Single - Graeme McDowell - Each Way
Each Way 1/4 1,2,3,4
2 lines at £40.00 per line
Total stake for this bet: £80.00
Potential Return: £880.00

Regarding all the sports personality chat, is there market on Team of the Year? If so, is Team Sky worth a shout? If Wiggins isn't destined to win the overall SPOTY, this could be presentedas a cconsolation.

Can't see any markets yet.
I bet they will be short odds though!

There would still be Chelsea, Man City, England Cricket Team, Welsh Rugby Team plus any Olympic performances against them.

Can't imagine Chelsea getting it ever tbh. How is team of the year decided? Public vote?

And there has just been a Hole in One @ The Open. We did a good swerve there.

Wink

England have brought Pietersen on though.
Things could start to get difficult for him.

Kyllachy Star, tipped and backed at 12/1, can now be laid at 7.6 on Betfair.
