Did some scouting at Gillingham yesterday.

Chompy mentioned him before but Bradley Dack on at least four different levels than the rest of the players on the pitch.

Josh Wright also excellent as was John Egan at the back (not the jockey).

Good side work hard and tactically flexible.

Horsey not sure if Rory Donnelly played but if he did what did you think?

He was a great prospect in the irish league before moving to Swansea where it never really worked out.

Yep he played, not to bad certainly worked hard enough talking to some people there who go all the time suggested he has improved his all-round game a lot since start of season.

Just had a quick look at some stats.

Between Dec 10 and Jan 15, Pardew's net spend at Newcastle was £67.1 million.

So far in his first year in charge McClaren's net spend is £73.15 million.

In Pardew's 3 full seasons at Newcastle they finished 5th, 16th and 10th.

Newcastle currently sit in 17th.

I don't have any allegiance to Newcastle or Pardew, other than hoping as a northern club they do well, but this Pardew hate is just way, way over the top.

Tighty mentioned it previously, most neutrals think he did a decent job.

I'm a Newcastle fan, and I completely agree with you! I can understand some of the negativity towards Alan; he does sometimes make strategic decisions which seem .. let's say unorthodox, and that gives him a bit of a bad reputation. For example, bringing on an extra defender when dominating a "stalemated" game at home. However, what I always said is that he did a superb job. With the squad we had; 5th, 16th & 10th was way higher up the league than we should have been.

As for Steve, I don't think he's a bad manager particularly. We're in 18th, and on squad strength, that's about where we should be in my opinion.  I'm not saying he's a good manager either, but I see nothing to suggest he's bad.

In reality, the manager doesn't matter at Newcastle. The problem is the owner, and until he leaves, we're screwed. Narrowly avoiding relegation each season, with no hope of progressing any further up the league - great. At this point, I would rather start back in the conference if it meant ashley would sell. That's why I do hope we get relegated really. It will be devastating, but at least it means mike won't get the EPL TV money.

Funny. I have backed Villa Smiley Can Liverpool be 8/11 away against anyone? They've won as many times as villa in their last six games.

Is -1 a push in that market, btw?

Yes, but he wasn't watching then.

Sky LOVE a good hyperbole.

Swindon conceded 100 goals, didn't they? Oldham were hardly great.

(Swindon 30 points off 42 games)

The watford team in probably the worst prem ever where a terrible bradford side stayed up (so bad jewell jumped ship for a sheff wed team he had relegated), were among the worst Ive witness. Everyone mentioned is inferior to villa. Villa are way more competitve than any mentioned. Complete overreaction from carragher, villa have been quite decent lately.
