I think there could be some value in Forrest Green Rovers beating Gateshead FC on Saturday
FGR 2nd in the league 2 points behind Cheltenham and 10 points clear of Grimsby last 6 away matches wwdwwd 9f 4a
The heed need to win to keep the pressure up as 7 clubs looking at 2ish play off places home last 6 is lwdwww f11 a9
http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/non-league/national-league/gateshead-v-forest-green/winner
whilst form on both teams is good I think FGR will score more on the day and the heeds record against the top teams is rubbish this season bar a home win over Grimsby and a draw at Cheltenham a few weeks ago
Bowman did not play in last nights away win Johnson scored another 2 goals
Heres hoping

Enjoyed the Daily report Rich , thanks for entertaining us and I am one of your "oldies" as
Trevor Cherry was one of my heroes as were all the "nice" Leeds players of the seventies.
Norman "bite your legs" Hunter was a particular favourite.
Happy days.

Thank you Tightend
I thought it was a bit cheeky to suggest an amount to be honest still trying to work how things run here and all that
Suddenly i have started to feel like an expectant father waiting for the day of arrival ....chain smoking chewing finger nails walking back and forth hoping everything will be ok and it will arrive fit and healthy ....and its only Wednesday 3 days still to go ... is this normal behaviour lol

It's some 40 years ago Jim, but I can still remember those names off the top of my head, Reaney, Madeley, Cherry, Charlton, Clarke, Giles, Bremner, Hunter, Lorimer, Gray & so on.
There was something rather smug about that Team, with those odious tags on their socks which they thought made them look superior.
I particularly enjoyed watching Johnny Giles, what a lovely footballer he was.
Quite sad how the Club imploded, all because they never looked after money properly. If Arsene had been in charge, of course, they'd still be great.

I can also recall those names , pretty decent team it was too.
All the cool schoolkids had those number sock tags when they came out , the poor kids even made their own ;-)

It was amazing how everyone suddenly thought they were cool. Tossers.
I always thought that Bremner was just the nut worst player in the world, I loathed him as a person. For balance, if he had been in my team,. I'd have loved him to bits.
Leeds - Super Leeds as they were then, as opposed to Shite Leeds now, were very marmite, they divided opinion dramatically.
Very odd how, this season, Leicester City have done the complete opposite, & they seem to be universally respected & loved. No sock tags or Bremner, see?

Apologies for the "Shite Leeds" jibe, I'm usually more of a lover than a hater by default, but a special friend of mine, Leeds based, reads Fred every day but is too shy to post, bit of a shrinking violet, & I'm trying to goad him into posting.
He'd be a useful asset, too, he studies Netball intently.

I had every Leeds programme from around 1962 onwards and started supporting them after
watching the 1970 FA Cup Final ( 7 years old at the time ).
Always wanted to grow up and be like Eddie Gray on the football pitch but turned out more like Billy Bremner.
They were really hated in their prime by rival supporters and that hatred still lingers on to this day.
I used to do scrapbooks of all things Leeds United and there was one particular headline on the front page
of The Sun on a Monday morning after they had beaten Southampton 7-0 and two weeks before had beaten
Man Utd 5-1 which covered the entire front page with "Is this the greatest football team ever " or something very similar
to that like "Is this the best team in the world ". I can't seem to find that headline but here is a link to the 7-0 drubbing
of Southampton.

In those days you had a squad of 13-14 players to last you the entire season.
