Think I was her only fan on Saturday.  Put her up ante post here 2 years ago.

I assume Robin Goodfellow must be a nom de guerre. The very first horse I backed, 35 years ago, was a nap from Robin Goodfellow. To show my sophistication at 18 I used to by the Daily Mail (chortle) and although I never watched horses I always had a thing about numbers, so, I followed the naps and nb's of the tipsters. This Goodfellow chap was on a good run so I remember having a £1.00 note on a horse called Handycuff, didn't know anything about betting slips so just rocked up to the counter to buy my bet. Hosed up at 14-1, wahey, for about 4 days I thought I'd learned the key to success, till my £14.00 ran out - didn't have enough of my £42.31 take home to invest further for a few years.

The Govaness falls at the last.  Looked like it was heading for a place maybe.  Normal service resumed.

My fault, it was carrying a whole 20 squid of mine and it obviously couldn't cope....

Looks like it was a day dominated by Doobs and Chompy, terrific result for Fred, tomorrow may be when our strength in depth shows, and others will get their just rewards.

Big thanks to everyone, including Tighty, who puts so much work into this.

I remember that run, it pissed me off no end as one of my mates kept backing them and I kept telling him not to be so daft.

It must have been around 1980 and Robin Goodfellow's "nap" had around eighteen winners out of twenty or something like that - decent prices some of them too.

I've got a ladies world T20 tip for anyone who is up early. It is tricky to find the markets but the best I've found so far is:

New Zealand spinner as Leigh Kasperek top tournament wicket taker 20/1 Betfair sports book, EW top 4 places. Recommend EW bet.

The leading wicket takers for other nations are listed 12s or better on there.

I know Fred seems to struggle getting on with them but some might want to get on.

In her most recent T20 warm up game in India vs England Kasparek recorded figures of 4/12. In her previous three matches in a series against Australia she had 3/26, 4/7 and 2/27.

She is Scottish and new on the scene in womens international cricket. She is the big favourite for top NZ wicket taker in their first match today but down the list for the tournament overall, I can only speculate that it is because she is so new she isn't included in any rankings. NZ are around joint third favourite and so expected to get to the semi finals where she would get an extra match and maybe even the final.

market here. I've also found it on bet365 at 18/1
http://www.oddschecker.com/cricket/womens-t20-world-cup/womens-twenty20-world-cup/top-bowler

EDIT: Also 20s on Paddy Power 1/4 odds top 4 places EW the same.

Market will close at 10am when first game starts...

4 overs and 2 wickets for Kasperek earlier - nice spot!

Ha, great memory on your part - would've been exactly 1980

Well done, folks.

Anand lost to Karjakin today. He'd never lost to him before today (28 games in all forms: classical, rapidplay and blitz). Karjakin has won two and drawn two of his four games now and is playing the best chess of the comp. Must admit I'm surprised at how bravely he's playing. I wish he'd shown more of this chess over the last few years, rather than being a dour defender. It's like when Mark Hughes took over at Stoke.

10 games left and we are at 50%. Nuzzling like Piggott, is I gather the phrase du jour.
