UL Doobs. Thanks for your input this week. Much appreciated.

Yes, very much so. You made us a nice profit, as well as helping us get on and oiling the wheels.

It could have been so much more, though.  Must have been 3 or 4 that I mentioned had gone too short or not for thread that won.  Doubt I have ever had a better race meeting personally.

Anyway, we have a new name on oddschecker.  It isn't on every market, but you can see them on a PC here (not sure about mobile).

http://www.oddschecker.com/golf/uspga-championship/us-pga-championship/winner

I have given up on looking at their prices, as they haven't been competitive whenever I have looked.  But at least we aren't blocked yet.  One more account where you need to remember your password Tony.,

Is it Matchbook, David?

If so, we have an account already. Annoyingly, they use a different wallet for "Sports" & "Horse Racing", though I am assuming/guessing we can transfer between them.

It is currently funded modestly - a few hundo - but we can top up if need be.

Bet Stars

Ahh, gotcha.

I have a (long dormant) 'Stars Account, does that count?

Not sure I want to bet with them, all seems a bit gimmicky to me, but needs must as the Devil drives.

I could see betstars there last night with no prices.  I didn't look at every market, so no idea if they appeared anywhere else and they aren't on my phone on that market now. Presumably all their prices are going to be on oddschecker?  They were next to skybet on the left, and not out with the washing on the right.

Guess there must be more money involved in getting a prime pitch on the left rather like front row at the racecouse?  Just guessing really.  No idea how oddschecker decides.

Maybe somebody was just testing last night and it went live in error?  Who knows?

Whilst you are funding stars, the 6 man hyper NLO8 games over $15 could do with some liquidity.

Gotcha, I can see them now - in Trap 3, behind 365 & Sky. No prices shown (on the PGA, anyway) from what I can see though.

Think I'll swerve those NLO8 Hypers, TYVM......

Sky got theirs up very early, by design, but I think a lot of sites will join the party this week.

Okay, so I was purposely waiting until after Friday practice to post any bet suggestions. The Hockenheim track is a unique one in terms of historical data providing very little insight year-on-year. It's a bit on an anomaly really, but the thermal tyre degradation on this track is never really consistent.

Anyhow, here are my suggestions based on what we saw today:

Race Winner - Nico Rosberg @ 6/4 with various. Lewis has the momentum at the moment, and he is rightly the favourite, however 6/4 on Nico is too high - especially at his home race. To give some idea of where the cut off point is, 11/10 on Nico for pole is not a bet. Suggest £20.

http://www.oddschecker.com/motorsport/formula-one/german-grand-prix/winner

Points Finish - Daniil Kvyat @ 9/4 with various. The Russian has been off form lately following his Red Bull demotion. However, this weekend through the two practice sessions so far, he appears to have matched his team mate. A bit of luck and Daniil could score points. Suggest £20.

http://www.oddschecker.com/motorsport/formula-one/german-grand-prix/points-finish

Winning Margin - 5-9 999 Seconds @ 11/4 with Coral. Given how often the winning margin is between these figures, a price of nearly 3/1 just seems too high to me. Suggest £20.

http://www.oddschecker.com/motorsport/formula-one/german-grand-prix/winning-margin

That's all for now, will re-review pre-qualifying Smiley

I note we have a bet on Daniil Kyvat today.

I'm certainly not dissing Peter, or the bet, but did anyone see him interviewed yesterday?

My word, not sure I can recall seeing a sportsman, certainly not a FI driver, so completely shot to pieces, say boo to him & he'd burst into tears.

Be a remarkable thing if he podiumated today. Hope he does, obviously.

Not even sure we will see him in F1 again, he really has gone to pieces mentally.

It really was not nice to see the fella interviewed.

http://www.skysports.com/f1/news/12433/10517527/daniil-kvyat-down-and-distraught-after-qualifying-blow-in-germany

He always comes across as refreshingly honest.  Most blame the car after a crash, but Kyvat usually just holds his hands up.  Hope he comes back just because of that.

Sky are biggest on Leicester handicap betting.  It is the toughest line to set, but were 4 points bigger than the other 3 (?) when I looked last night.  Something else I noticed is that all bar one were now 15/1 every team in the handicap and not the more usual 16/1.  What is that? It isn't even a normal price.  More penny pinching to go with the 5 who went 7 places but a fifth the odds in the golf.  Hence appearing to offer more, but really offering less than those that went quarter first 6.  Worrying times.

Pre-Race bets:

Podium Finish - Max Verstappen @ 7/5 with the exchange. Starting 4th, the price on this should not be so high. Suggest £20.

http://www.oddschecker.com/motorsport/formula-one/german-grand-prix/podium-finish

Points Finish - Carlos Sainz @ 7/4 with SkaiBet/Hills/Beewin. Carlos does start down in 16th today, but 7/4 is still a solid price really. Suggest £20.

http://www.oddschecker.com/motorsport/formula-one/german-grand-prix/points-finish

Top Six Finish - Sergio Perez @ 7/4 with the exchange. Starts in 9th place, should finish either 7th or 8th on pure pace. However, the impact of strategy and/or retirements makes this a bet at 7/4. Suggest £10.

http://www.oddschecker.com/motorsport/formula-one/german-grand-prix/top-6-finish

Safety Car - No @ 11/10 with 366 and Beewin. We haven't seen a safety car all weekend through GP2 and GP3, all incidents, even incidents with cars stopped in the middle of the track, have been covered by the VSC (which doesn't count as a safety car at the bookies; although it's worth checking the terms of each individual firm). Unless we have a pile up, we won't see the safety car today. Suggest £10.

http://www.oddschecker.com/motorsport/formula-one/german-grand-prix/safety-car

Grid Position Of Lap One Leader - Any Other Driver @ 16/1 with Beewin. Any other driver means 4th downwards. There's a long distance from the start to the first breaking zone here. With the Mercedes cars being traditionally slow off the line, I can see a Red Bull leading at the end of the first lap. 16/1 seems too high to me on Max Verstappen starting 4th. Suggest £10.

http://www.oddschecker.com/motorsport/formula-one/german-grand-prix/grid-position-of-lap-1-leader

Ordinarily, I would suggest Lewis to win the race at 13/10, however we're already on Nico. In theory, you could (almost) guarantee profit by betting on Lewis also if you wanted.

Meanwhile, a few bets that you can only place with SkaiBet (so not for TFT):

Group B (HUL/PER/BOT/MAS) - Valtteri Bottas @ 9/4. £10.
Group C (ALO/BUT/GUT/SAI) - Carlos Sainz @ 6/1. £25.
Group D (MAG/PAL/WEH/ERI/NAS/HAR) - Kevin Magnussen @ 5/4. £15.

No spreads to recommend today.

In the pit lane on Thursday he was out doing photos for the team and he just looked so out of place. Granted I know most don't like doing those things, but he had that defeated look on his face, resigned to his fate with a "why do I have to bother with this"  look

General consensus in the paddock is that yesterday was the last straw for Daniil personally, he's a completely broken man at this point. One of my friends in the paddock picked up that Daniil entered the sport as a kid, still spotty, a bit shy and uncertain of himself. However, as he grew within the Red Bull family, the spots started to disappear, his speech became stronger and more authoritative, and he became a much more imposing figure. But now, following his demotion, the spots are coming back and he's starting to stutter his speech again. Completely broken. It's sad really, but that's how brutal this is sometimes. It's inevitable he will be leaving Red Bull at some point. However, I do believe he has shown enough to get a drive elsewhere within the next few years.

must be a decent bet not to make it through the season with Pierre Gasly charging through GP2 in the red bull driver programme

looked completely and untterly defeated yesterday, red bull so ruthlessly dropping him for verstappen has nixed his career it looks like

I'm not sure who Red Bull could replace him with, Pierre Gasly does not have a superlicense. Although I suppose he could be given temporary licenses on a race-by-race basis.

Not sure this is entirely true. Most drivers are honest about the reasons for their crash, because it's always clear anyway from the data.

Wow, market shifting a lot.

6/5 is okay here.

Carlos Sainz German Grand Prix Points Finish
7/4
Total Stake: £20.00
