There may be a bet to be had in the Salford v Huddersfield rugby league today at 3pm. The teams will be announced at 2.30pm and if he is in the starting lineup then Niall Evalds of Salford is worth backing in the anytime try scorer market at 3-2 with sky or 11/8 with ladbrokes. It is possible they go with Carney instead of him which makes it a no go, even if he is a substitute. I know you can't do ladbrokes Tighty but maybe some kindly soul will do it for you.

Premier league champions playing also rans in the race for the champions league.
17/5 with the ex bookmaker.
Thoughts Tighty?
4.4 on betfair
Edit. Just gone and so has 4.3. Just left a bet there at 4.4.
Edit again. Hills are 100/30 which is better after commission.
good morning from Newport Pagnell services which is a sea of blue
its an atypical community shield, an unusual PL champion and an FA Cup winner that should be substantially better than last season (?)
i saw someone say something like "when the last time the champion went off at 7/2 against the fa cup winner?" which sort of misses the point
its also hot as hell, and it may be played at quite a "pre-season" pace
no bet for me.

i won't be around Hector and as you say we can't use Ladbrokes
but if 2.30pm comes and its a goer please post it up and if someone can help they can go ahead and place it for tikay.

For those that have an interest in the game North of the Border I've done a few quid on Tony Watt to be FGS and AGS against Celtic. I'm still not convinced by the Celtic backline and as much as i think they win today they are likely to concede.
11/1 is a standout and with Stan James I don't have funds there so took the 10/1/
and 4/1 with Baldy for AGS.
I think Watt has a bit to prove to Celtic. He wasn't best pleased when he was shipped out.

Sorry if it's already been mentioned (not been keeping up) but Charlie Austin at 66/1 five places 1/4 with Betty Sportspunt? Pelle and Mane have flown the nest and someone has to score the goals. He was a fringe England player not all that long ago.
Would Saints fans confirm, please, but I believe Southampton played a 4-4-2 today with Tadic in behind the strikers. That would be Austin in the 18 yard box and Long running the channels. If that's the system, it is very much something to bear in mind.
Yes, this is the plan, Long runs the channels, Charlie taps them in.
Expect Redmond to feature as a striker fairly often. Puel has talked him up as a striker.
http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/southampton/top-league-goalscorer
And Puel is the man who developed Henry from a winger into a striker.
I looked and couldn't see Redmond on the top scorer list so he'll be a tasty price. He scored 6 league goals for Norwich last year as a winger.

Final Saints friendly today at 3pm. Redmond starts up front with Long. Austin on the bench. Looks like Redmond will be upfront against Watford next week.

Watford are a long way from ready both in terms of player recruitment and being settled in their formation. I expect Saints to give us a bit of a shoeing next week.

Laying Man Utd is around evens. I wonder if that is the angle? The pre season aspect probably favours a draw which is covered here. I like it and have backed it myself, but its no recommend especially as you feel luke warm about it.

Wasn't at the game but Saints won 1-0 with Redmond directly through the middle for 66 mins before being subbed. A couple of clear cut chances for him and hit the post once. I would be starting Austin personally but looks like Puel has found a project.

Arsenal vs City is live on ITV a bit later this evening.
Last chance to fine tune things before the real deal kicks off next weekend.

Wouldn't have argued against the bet before the game, Watt showed flashes of talent, but seemed to play too wide to get many chances.

From the Manchester Evening News reporter at the game;
"Coaching staff are hugging Mata. Mata is actually having a go at Mourinho. Having to be restrained. #mufc"
Mourinho 100/1 to be first manager to leave post.

I never watched the whole game but Watt missed an absolute sitter from a few yards out, seemed a very good spot that was just unlucky!

Aye he missed a good chance and made Gordon make another decent save. If he puts his head down and loses the ego he could be a good player for Hearts and might be worth an e/w punt for top SPL scorer.
Listening to the comentary when he was taken off it might be that he's not fully fit as Nielsen apparently said he'd give him 60 minutes to show what he's got.
