Morning Tighty.
Superleague tonight sees Wigan host Widnes, and it should be a comfortable night for Wigan. I would expect that by now people will know who I am going to propose for anytime try scorer and I shan't disappoint. John Bateman is the value here with the expectation that Wigan will score 6 or more tries.
Suggest £20 Bateman @ 6/4 with betfred. I think you should be quick placing this one.

Very good tighty. This must be the first month we have finished above 14k. Onwards and upwards.

Could i have some views please?
WBA are 7/2 to go down
Pulis typically organises teams so effectively that gathering sufficient points to stay up is a given
this time round
a) he stated 5 players would come in on deadline day
b) only Nyom and Hal Robson one hit wonder did to follow Chadli last week
c) a couple of WBA friends i know tell me the team lacks pace and goals and are gloomy. style of play is always puritan at best and boring at worst
d) the takeover by the chinese hasn't led to the transformation hoped forand jeremy peace is still involved (and blocked some incoming transfers?)
e) Pulis could walk? sounds frustrated
f) and if he did the x points his experience are worth go with him?
relevant local press. not upbeat

the bottom of the table is v competitive
Moyes thinks Sunderland are in a relegation battle
Middlesbrough might not be but Burnley and Hull almost certainly will be
Palace as well, Swansea maybe
Watford look vulnerable etc etc
then an outlier such as a bournemouth
i suppose the consensus will tell me that there are going to be three worse teams than WBA, or is it an interesting relegation price?

Hi Callum,
The last time I communicated with Mere was on July 29th, & he was fine and dandy at the time. I'll be dropping him a note in a day or so, just keeping in touch, & I'll let you know how he is. I'm sure he'll appreciate that you asked after him.
As of now, he is taking a sabbatical from blonde, but fingers crossed, when he is good & ready, he will be back. Bear in mind he is very old, & old people are such awkward & grumpy buggers at times, I know that for a fact, I've met a few.
It goes without saying, of course, that he is much missed by most of us.
PS - I would imagine that, for the next week or two, he'll be studying the form in the US Open Ladies Tennis. There are few better judges of Ladies Tennis, & their fitness.

Never been known. You have been mixing with the wrong sorts.

Think you are correct, David.
Guess we ought to do another little Celebration Comp.
I'll have a natter with Tighty & see what we can come up with.

Thanks for posting these, Rich.
Just wow @ 7.87% ROI (all proofed in advance) over a sample size of 5,944 bets. Even the quibliest of quibblers can't argue with that.
Great work by the regulars here, & also by you, to pick & choose what bets to place without upsetting too many. Not easy, that. Bear in mind we occasionally do dodgy stuff by policy (Newbies, politics etc) so all the more remarkable.
As free resources go, not bad, not bad at all.

I'm not as worried about Watford as I was a few weeks back. Pereyra, Janmaat, Kennedy, Okaka and Kabul have added real depth to the squad in all areas. Also Success is finally up and running and looks a handful. Our horror start continues with West Ham away and Man Utd at home, but after that we start moving into easier games and I'd expect us to rise up the table. Predict a 13th-15th place finish based on what I have seen so far. My main concern is the manager not speaking English at the moment, although he has an excellent CV, and the continued poor form of Deeney/Ighalo.

Largely speaking, last month's results are irrelevant, even though we made a nice few bob, but the lifetime ones are interesting;
1
Football £5778 @13.6%
2 Horses £2550 @5.6%
3 Misc £1950 @24.5%
4 Tennis £1352 @21.8%
5 NFL £1298 @11.6%
To beat those 5 sports with, in 4 cases, double digit ROI, is quite something. We are blessed to have so many shrewd judges of value here.
The Bottom 5 contain one real surprise - Boxing. We have some really good boxing judges here, 2 in particular I'd bet blind with my own money. Maybe we just ran real bad. The sample size is just 87, so maybe that's the explanation. Pretty sure we can turn that one round.
The Basketball numbers are bad, too, but I think that's a legacy thing from Fred's year one, when we were "punting" individual games way too much with no real knowledge of genuine value. Tough to beat the market in individual games, I'd say, the Markets are pretty efficient. We had some decent scores on "Specials" too, so all the more surprising. Part of the learning process I guess.
