After all the palaver (for Doobs) with Brandon Marshall "taking a knee" during the National Anthem ( is doing the same, I gather), I looked him up on Wiki, as he seemed to be a sort of NFL version of Joey Barton.

Apparently he  suffers - allegedly - from something called "borderline personality disorder".

Seems a convenient tag for poor behaviour to me, but maybe these things really are medical conditions. Not sure I'm a buyer, tbh.

there are two Brandon Marshalls, Jets receiver and Broncos linebacker

the awkward diva one is at the Jets

Also huge difference between sticking to principles even when unpopular & stubbing a cigar out in an apprentice's eye....

If I could work out which Brandon was which, I could counter that by saying he was accused of punching a woman in the face. But I can't, so I'd best zip it & take the loss gracefully. Ish.

Talking of Colin Kap, why did his star, which once shone so brightly, fade & flicker so? He's not even the QB starter this season. He must be one of the most highly paid back-ups in the NFL.

Is his (reported) $126 million contract tiered based on playing each game, or does he lose bonuses & whatnot when not the designated starter?

not accurate enough. also the supporting cast around him weakened significantly after their superbowl run. there was also a "fad" for read-option quarterbacks who were running threats but a lot of defensive co-ordinators adjusted and with a few exceptions (Newton, Wilson...) who are that good they can transcend any almost defensive scheme against them there aren't as many in the league now, its swung back to pocket passers

there is a website that details nfl player contracts

http://overthecap.com/player/colin-kaepernick/62/ is the relevant page where you can see how much is guaranteed

they obviously have him on a starter contract, and tried to trade him last off-season (talks with the broncos) to get themsleves rid of the contract but Kaep wouldn't play ball with the broncos

a bit like a footballer on the bench being paid not to play, Kaep can ride his contract

as you can see from the figures though, soon the dead money for cutting him is fairly insignificant and there was talk that he would be cut this season.

15th highest of 91 QB contracts

Strewth.

Who is the highest paid?

http://overthecap.com/position/quarterback/

andrew luck as of this summer

remember there's a new tv deal and cba league/players that is in the early stages of ratcheting contracts higher again

(which might sound familiar)

Morning Tighty.

After last weeks dismal effort I owe you a winner, so I have had extra cups of coffee and done lots of thinking. It is likely that Leeds have an easy fixture tonight when they host Batley. Batley are in the league below and Leeds have been racking up the points in the playoff series.

Obviously the most likely  try scorers are big odds on shots and have no appeal, apart from Kallum Watkins at 2/3 with sky. For a while Leeds have had problems around the play the ball, with little offensive play. What they needed was a live wire hooker, and a couple of months ago they recruited James Segeyaro from the ARL. In 7 games he has scored 5 tries and he is odds against to score tonight against the weakest team they will face. If the weather stays dry and the wind not too blustery then it could be a 60+ win for Leeds tonight, so Carl Ablett is a decent bet at odds against as well.

Suggest £20 Segeyaro anytime @ 11/10 with Coral. He is a tad bigger at Sky for the lucky few.

Not the greatest of starts whatsoever for Jimmy Walker - struggling massively to keep the ball on the fairway (4/14 fairways hit) which in turn, as you'd expect, made it hard for him to find the green in regulation.

Got some serious work to do to get into contention now and will more than likely require 3 rounds of 65 or better to be in with a shout. Leader is currently -7 with half of the field yet to complete their round due to thunder and lightening that hit early on.

If we can't get Jimmy there, it would be very nice to see Paul Casey close this one out and put him in mega contention for the FedEx cup!

Hector - level stakes at;

Segeyaro            6/5
Carl Ablett          6/4
Kallum Watkins    4/6

seem okay? Or do you advise just Segeyaro?

Anyone know anything about Black Type? New bookie I've just noticed has appeared on Oddschecker, never heard of them.

run by two guys who used to run the 888 sportsbook, supported by the same back end that 888 ran on

the funding comes from Robert Sangster's family, specificially his grandson who is the biggest investor

Pinnacle type model, eg lay any horse bet to £500 in one key marketing plank, no restrictions

That was terrible behaviour as any cigar afficionado knows that you don't stub out a cigar you simply allow it to go out in the ashtray.

I don't know, to be honest.

Obviously the lay any horse to win £500 is attractive when we are restricted in a lot of places

here is a little more about them http://www.sbcnews.co.uk/europe/uk/2016/08/25/racing-specialist-black-type-launches-on-fsb-technology/

and the site itself is https://www.blacktype.bet/

up to you (Pinnacle back into the UK would be the biggie)

Segeyaro is the best value as I think he should be 4/6. If Watkins starts then I think he is about a 1/3 shot and Ablett even money. I don't like doing multiple scorers at these prices as if 1 fails to score then it really impacts on your ROI. Obviously if a giant is going to stamp on my testicles if I fail to find a try scorer then I am going for Watkins in a flash.
