Oh my, she is adorable.

Imagine turning up to play a Chess Comp & finding your opponent is a 9 year old girl prodigy. The ego's must suffer a bit.

Was there any particular "edge" in the Russia - Ukraine match?

How did the Woakes bet end up?

Did we rescue it in the end after it looked a bit iffy?

5 match ODI series between England and Pakistan starts on Wednesday. Any reason why we shouldn't be backing Woakes top England wicket taker at 4's?

Willey is injured. Wood will likely be rotated and eased back into the side. Stokes may start the series as a specialist batsman. Pakistani batsman very adept at playing spin, so Rashid and Ali may find it tough going.

Woakes in the form of his life in red ball cricket, expect him to take that into white ball cricket also. Wouldn't have thought he'd be rested at any point yet? Plunkett has a habit of picking up wickets also, so possible saver on him. Both 4/1 jtf's.

Thoughts?

Very nice work Nelly, thank you vey much.

We like 4/1 winners.

Was there any particular "edge" in the Russia - Ukraine match?

Russia were favourites and had the higher ranking players but both are strong, despite them both missing a few chaps. Having apparently fallen out of love with the game, Ivanchuk is indulging in his new passion for draughts.

World Title challenger, Sergei Karjakin, decided to switch allegiance a few years ago from the Ukraine. He is on board two, behind Vladimir Kramnik, although there might arguably be a motivation there to ensure he doesn't face off against Carlsen at any point. Notably, Karjakin didn't play yesterday.

Like I say, though, both teams are very strong and there is little between the sides. Still is a surprise when the underdog across the boards wins.

Possibly spotted an edge as there's been a rick made on the weights of the top two in the 2.30 at Leicester.

The racing post (print edition) shows (No1) Field Of Vision & Ornate (No2) carrying 8st 13lb when they are actually not even the top weights in the race and instead both carry 8st 8lb.

Oddschecker still hasn't adjusted this and currently shows them both carrying the higher weight

http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing/leicester/14:30/winner

I've just backed Ornate at 100/30 and 3/1 as I fancied it quite strongly before spotting the mistake so it feels like I'm 5lb well in!

I'd expect it to shorten up nearer the race (as might Field Of Vision)

Not a recommend for Fred unless an elder and wiser thinks it should be!

Any love out there for the Dolphins -10.5 10/11 with most firms.Seattle started pretty slowly last year before hitting there stride.Freds had a decent run backing double digit dogs and the extra 0.5 makes a big difference.

China lost yesterday, with three draws and a loss against the Ukraine, who are on fire at the moment. Wei Yi made a positional error and Yuryi Kryvoruchko capitalised well.

China were favourites but we are seeing teams of similar strength playing each other now, so it is hardly a shock to see the mathematical underdog.

Rest day today. China play Argentina tomorrow and should win if they want to keep in touch. It is true that the last three or four rounds are what really matter in these Olympiads. Go on a run of wins and you climb the ladder very quickly. It'd be remarkable for a team to go through this tournament unbeaten, too.

Important match psychologically tomorrow nevertheless.

China did a lost? Outrageous. To those pesky Ukranians, who upset Russia, too.

We are getting a lot of bang per buck for £20 with this one. When people do Daily Updates, as you are doing with this, & it helps keep Fred ticking over.  Appreciated, thank you.

First day looks grim.  Tomorrow is better, though can't promise anything.
