I have a couple of small bets for the 6pm at Doncaster. Suggest 25 e/w with coral on Little Palaver at 14/1 and war whisper at 22/1. Both fairly unexposed types and Palaver is such a great word. Race is obviously a good betting race.
The mobile site was good just now, not sure I'd try and use the desktop; use of which often results in a little palaver.
*sighs* Earlier today I backed Fairway To Heaven e/w in this race and with Doobs' recent form I suddenly feel like I'm aiming for 3rd or 4th at best.
I followed doobs with his recent form. And had a little on fairway to heaven as well... Oh well

There is no momentum in betting. Some horses are going to lose. I am not sure I am ever going to repeat what happened in August. Will try harder though.

Low scorer for me.
The Denver Defence was pretty impressive against some high powered offences out through the playoffs last season, including shutting down the panthers in the super bowl. I see no reason they can't do it again.
Problem they will have is, the new QB isn't Peyton Manning!!
I expect Denver to take a lot of time out of the game running it, and this to be a low scoring, scrappy affair.
Under 40 points in the game at a touch over evens looks good to me.
No thoughts?

at the beginning of the season we have a double as follows
top wicket taker double, sussex, glam magoffin, hogan paying 6/1ish £15
For Sussex Magoffin is well clear 49. Archer second on 23
For Glamorgan Hogan is second behind Tim Van Der gugten their breakthrough bowler, 38 to 41
Hogan took 4 in the current innings, TVDG 2 For Hogan to catch up a bit
after today there are 2 games of the season to go
[/quote
It was group betting, so luckily we're not up against Van Gugten. The 4 in the group were Hogan, Wagg, Meschede and Salter. Hulk's 5-for gets us just clear of Wagg at the moment. Macgoffin has hacked up for Sussex, Shazhad Robinson and Briggs have been infrequent wicket-takers. Apologies for lack of updates, been such a dull bet all the way through.

I'm not a fan of Kell Brook so I could possibly be biased against him but odds-against for Golovkin to win inside six rounds seems big to me.
There's some 5/4 around.
Any thoughts from the boxing afficionados?

With OVER 41 being 7-3 in the Broncos last 10 games when they were home underdog, I'd be reluctant to be confident about unders even though the trend between these 2 teams is UNDER in 4 of the last 5 games. With an inexperienced Bronco QB, there's every chance that CAR will have more time with the ball to score points. Overall I don't think there's any value at the price.

You're onto something there. A bit like Khan-Canelo they have weight divisions for a reason. I'm high on Brook as a welterweight but not as a middleweight versus a beast like GGG. I've backed the Kazak outright rather than speculate how long he'll let the fight go on for.

A good team effort by the Chinese yesterday, saw victory over Argentina. Wang Yue lost on top board (I think missing a clever tactic while under a little time pressure) but boards 2 and 3 (including Fred favourite, Ding Liren) won and a draw on bottom board was enough to seal the win.
Wang Yue standing, Ding sitting.
This was the start of the second half of fixtures, following the...er...rest day:

So it was back to business:

India won again, this time against the Dutch, meaning, thanks to the USA beating Ukraine, they are the only team with six wins out of six. The top 8 results were:
India 2.5-1.5 Netherlands
USA 2.5-1.5 Ukraine
Czech Republic 2-2 Georgia
Greece 2-2 Azerbaijan
Canada 2.5-1.5 Belarus
Germany 1-3 Russia
China 2.5-1.5 Argentina
Standings:
12 India
11 USA
10 Netherlands
10 Czech Republic
10 Georgia
10 China
10 Canada
10 Latvia
10 Russia
10 Ukraine
10 England
10 Romania
Today's fixtures are:
India v USA
Latvia v Netherlands
Russia v Czech Republic
Croatia v Azerbaijan
Georgia v Romania
England v China
Ukraine v Canada
Big game for China today, although they all will be, hopefully, from here.
England have their full strength team out:
Michael Adams
David Howell
Luke McShane
Nigel Short
Chess enthusiasts will remember that Short played for the World Title against Garry Kasparov in 1993. He is to the right of David Howell here:

So so close, very ul Stu.
I was a bit busy elsewhere last night, so did not comment, & as most know, I know bugger all about these things, but one thing I was aware of was that the line had dropped from 42 a day or so earlier, so it sorta felt like maybe we were a tad late.
Keep them coming. Thought it was a really entertaining game to watch, be great if that sets the standard for the season.

After all the
palaver
(for Doobs) with Brandon Marshall "taking a knee" during the National Anthem (CK is doing the same, I gather), I looked him up on Wiki, as he seemed to be a sort of NFL version of Joey Barton.
Apparently he suffers - allegedly - from something called "borderline personality disorder".
Seems a convenient tag for poor behaviour to me, but maybe these things really are medical conditions. Not sure I'm a buyer, tbh.

Talking of Colin Kap, why did his star, which once shone so brightly, fade & flicker so? He's not even the QB starter this season. He must be one of the most highly paid back-ups in the NFL.
Is his (reported) $126 million contract tiered based on playing each game, or does he lose bonuses & whatnot when not the designated starter?

not accurate enough. also the supporting cast around him weakened significantly after their superbowl run. there was also a "fad" for read-option quarterbacks who were running threats but a lot of defensive co-ordinators adjusted and with a few exceptions (Newton, Wilson...) who are that good they can transcend any almost defensive scheme against them there aren't as many in the league now, its swung back to pocket passers
there is a website that details nfl player contracts
http://overthecap.com/player/colin-kaepernick/62/
is the relevant page where you can see how much is guaranteed
they obviously have him on a starter contract, and tried to trade him last off-season (talks with the broncos) to get themsleves rid of the contract but Kaep wouldn't play ball with the broncos
a bit like a footballer on the bench being paid not to play, Kaep can ride his contract
as you can see from the figures though, soon the dead money for cutting him is fairly insignificant and there was talk that he would be cut this season.
