4-5 Hull, 11-2 Palace to make most DD signings with Shy.

8 premier league teams in the draw

all avoided each other

anyone fancy a bit of simple maths and give us the odds of that?

8/15*7/13*6/11*5/9*4/7*3/5*2/3 = 0.0199

So 2%

4-5 Hull, 11-2 Palace to make most DD signings with Shy.

Palace now 9/2 with the same firm

Let's flesh this one out then if we can.

Luka Milivojevic looks like hes having a medical and is set to sign on DD. Martin Caceres apparently is going to move on a free with a medical in the pipeline already.

Possibilities - Hogan (apparently WHUFC have pulled out clearing the way more for Palace, is he a striker? Why did we just not keep Gayle? We looking at 2 up top?), Sakho (Liverpool - we need another CB, so i could see this but apparently £20m is the asking price, which I find laughable but we are desperate, i'm not even sure he is that good lol. According to a French news outlet an offer has been placed, but i assume that would be a posturing bid anyway.)

More long shots - Brady and Jenkinson were linked but perhaps with Van Aanholt in, they are unlikely.

I could see us getting a loan deal in as well randomly so i would plump for 3 or 4 DD signings.

That solid enough to go with it at 9/2? Are Hull seriously going for 4 or more?

Max Gradel looks set, Nicolas Pepe is another. A lot of what i see suggests around 4 too.

Hate these markets, as its generally pure punting from really misleading info generally.

But maybe because of the disparity between the odds on of Hull and 9/2 its worth a punt on Palace.

I may add that we have just spent £25m on Schlupp and Van Aanholt, with Schlupp injured already. We could be capable of a beautiful implosion of a spending mess tomorrow as we clearly are looking to splash the cash recklessly hoping something pays off.

Just looked at the market, i cba looking at Burnley and Sunderland interests - I have wasted time here haha.

You're an absolute sniper for these markets, haha.

6/4 now. It may be closer to evens imo, so I've put a little on.

Well you wouldn't know it's deadline day would you?

Shy, Baldy and Hills have a few prices, but it's all very quiet. Oddschecker don't seem arsed.

Looks like Hogan will be going to Villa. Shame there's no EW top scorer betting in the Champo. Any chance Villa crack the top six we think?

whoops!

"It’s an annual tradition: Every year, bookmakers make up a lot of goofy Super Bowl bets, known as “props.” The wagers bring good publicity and maybe earn the bookie a few bucks.

Only sometimes, it goes wrong.

Some of the most common Super Bowl bets revolve around the coin toss. Will it come up heads or tails? Who will win it? Will the winner elect to receive?

So when Bookmaker.eu, an online betting site based in Costa Rica, set the odds on whether the team making the call this year would choose heads or tails, it seemed like a fairly standard bet. And logically enough, they made it even money. Sometimes people call heads and sometimes tails, right?

“It’s a pretty standard Super Bowl prop,” Scott Cooley, a spokesman for Bookmaker, said. “I don’t think a lot of thought went into it this year.”

Although the bookmaker may not have done much due diligence, bettors had. The Patriots are the designated visiting team for this year’s Super Bowl, and thus will get to call the coin toss. And you may not have noticed it, but the Patriots always call heads"

Wednesday 13/8 at Bristol City tonight.

I'm not huge on it, but city are on a long losing run and played at the weekend, whilst Wednesday are on an OK run, didn't play at the weekend & are coming close to a fully fit squad.

8 premier league teams in the draw

all avoided each other

anyone fancy a bit of simple maths and give us the odds of that?

8/15*7/13*6/11*5/9*4/7*3/5*2/3 = 0.0199

So 2%

did it a different method using the combos of prem/non-prem 74/120 x 49/91 etc but got same answer

a mystery lurker contaxcted me with the solution too

"Assuming 8 premiership teams and 8 non-premiership teams, the odds of no all-premiership ties are very close to 49/1.

The easiest way to view this is:

The first ball can be anything.

The second ball must be one of 8 from the remaining 15.

The third ball can be anything.

The fourth ball must be one of 7 from the remaining 13.

etc

In total it is 8/15 * 7/13 * 6/11 * 5/9 * 4/7 * 3/5 * 2/3 which is 0.02 (2dp)."

See, even a novice could do it Longines. go and stand in the corner.

Ha, exactly my thoughts, too.

Weird, as I was thinking about a Super Bowl comp this morning, but it's beyond the skills of a mere chap like me.
