I can assure you that 11.5 on the stimp-meter does not equate to slow greens.

Sounded pretty quick to me!

Nice grass photo though, go on, admit it.

compared to 12.5-13 it does, but point taken.

It looks as though the racing post's golf guru Steve Palmer also likes Johnson as the price seems to have collapsed this morning into 20/1.

They Rose match bet price is far too big but it looks like they have put the prices in the wrong way round so you might get paid but you might simply get paid at the  right price and your account restricted.

Johnson looks to have a good chance but he is pretty short now in relation to his prices earlier in the week tho in a way the more info that has been gained on the course the more it seems to suit him and fits in with his previous winning profile.

The Rose Match Bet. Yes, it looks like a rick, the last time I tried to take advantage of a rick (on Bet365) I ended up with a Restricted Account. Not going there again.

I'd really like to get on Dustin Johnson, but I hear what you & others say about the price. It is still 25/1 on 32Red, or was 30 mins ago, but after wasting 20 mins opening an account I can't be arsed to persevere, it was a nightmare. I deposited a sum, it went straight to "Casino", & then I had to tx it to "Sports Betting". Which it would not allow. So I just withdrew. Bye bye 32Red.

Best price I can see now is 45/2. We are only talking a tenner or £20.

Yes, no?

I must confess, I hadn't looked at where the price had come from. 40-1?

Don't mind at at all if its felt to be too skinny

Just trying to give you something for a portfolio....banzais from anyone?

I rather liked the bet Rich, for a fun banzai, but if the price is deemed too short, we have to swerve. In theory, Sod's Law is then invoked, & he crushes.

USPGA Golf.

No course form to consider so I am going for a person who has been consistent in the Majors this year, Matt Kuchar. He has also not missed a cut this season and has had a tournament win. He also recently relaid his back garden with Paspalum grass to get some practice on it ( that fact may not be entirely true!).

Suggest £5 e/w 36-1 Blue Square.

With my new found ability to back complete donkeys in Golf tournaments I am going to use this skill for good rather than evil. Phil Mickleson is playing awfully and has missed the cut in 2 out of his last 4 events and this is a really tough field. He has had an injury this season and has withdrawn after 1 round of a tournament.

Suggest £20 he misses the cut 12/5 Bet Fred.

There's the Banzai.

It is almost Fred tradition that Hector produces a golf sweat for the Majors now, providing he gives us a daily Report which may or may not contain artistic licence.

The Mickelson bet - see next Post.

We have a fiver EW with Blue Square on Matt Kuchar.

That is very interesting, & tempting.

I know he has been bang out of sorts, but he is a very special player indeed, by any yardstick, & cometh the Majors, cometh the Man. I'm inclined to think ( = guess) he will find his game this week.

What do others think?

Did someone say banzai?

I quite like the speculative chances of Rafa Cabrera-Bello this week at a rather sporty 250/1 with joke coral, the alternative is to take the c400 on BF with an eye on a possible greengage when he is leading by three shots after the second round.

Either £5ew or £5/£10 on the win market would be my suggestion.

Ralph, that is ridiculous!

But we are on, for some fun.

We have £5 WIN on Betfair @ 450, to win £2,245 (!).

And £5 PLACE with Stan James @ 45/1.

i'd oppose it. The best players show why they are the best players on the hardest courses.
