Thanks for the numbers, Vince, very helpful, & useful. The numbers, I mean. I never thought for a minute we could turn a profit.

Perhaps a few of the Elders will comment as they see fit, when time permits.

Wow at those Rugby League stats! Sample size of course, but still handy.

My eyes water when I look at those Basketball numbers, & the effect on the bottom line, but as long as we learn the lessons from it, no prob.

In truth, to have beaten the bookies over 7 months is quite something - most of us were, & still are, "mug punters", so a big up to the Elders for steering us along, & to Vince for creating & managing the spreadsheets, & of course to everyone who contributes tips, in good heart & spirit.

I still blame the thread starter for all this.

Here he is, getting the lot as usual.

Final list of recommends - none of these have been punted yet, & we will not do them unless strong positives come in, & soon. No point looking for value that is not there. Huddersfield, Torquay & Blackpool all look tempting at those prices, but I can resist......

Newcastle v Aston Villa @ 4/6, Fraser. Currently negative, view being the price is about right.

Ipswich v Huddersfield, @ 5/2 (11/4 now), Dung. Several positive comments.

I think the price looks about right.  Huddesrfield still drifting on betfair.

Why not just swerve them all?

P3 session ends with Alonso quickest with a 1:48.542, Raikkonen a close second. Quali should be good. 1pm start.

We'll see who has true pace then

I really like Newcastle today, I put Villa up on week one v West Ham as I thought there as some value in the price but Lambert has not had the immediate reaction I had hoped for.  Its a poor team, and when I look at the squad there are not many genuine class players in there.  Newcastle were poor against Chelsea but there record in London is notoriously poor.

In their last 4 visits to the North East Villa have lost 3 and drawn 1.

Thanks Doobs, & that's 90% certain to be the case.

If something jumped off the page, we'd have spotted it. And if regulars want a punt, the tips are here, for all to see.

I'm determined not to place Fred bets for the sake of it.

I may have a few off-thread myself, I quite like Blackpool & Huddersfield, but just mug fivers, not Fred money.

I think everyone thinks Newcastle are likely to win today Mr Ace, the problem everyone has is the price, which, at best, is deemed right. If it were a 1/2 shot, then we should be on @ 4/6, but few think it is 1/2. Interestingly, the price has been drifting for 2 days now, I believe Ryan Taylor is out, perhaps that is part of the reason. Anyway, the game is not until tomorrow, so we have time yet.

Ipswich recruited pretty well and it looks like Town thought  Beckford was a good thing to sign but it fell thru in the end.I'm not sure if Hammill was registered in time to play.

It looks like a game to swerve to me now tho as it seems Ipswich's chances have improved since midweek but the price has got shorter to take this into account.

Strangely enough one bet I have now had is Southend who now don't have a CB playing up front coz their strikers are fit ( tho they did lose an attacking threat in Ferdinand) but Wycombe have lost Stuart Beavan last night who was huge for them. So we thought Southend would be short up front in midweek but it turns out they won't be and Wycombe are but It's not really a thread bet standard wager.

Am watching it, he seems to be on the pace so far. Guess a front row start will help.....
