Any recommendations for 3G this afternoon?

I have reached my limit on the number of bets  I can have on the go with Fred. I have backed him myself and I reckon Mr Tikay has too. Feel free to adopt him and propose him for Fred as I will not be sleighted at all.

I think the dynamic is very different today hector, he will have to rely on Garcia to putt out a lot, whereas Nick was dropping all his putts yesterday.

I have backed them today but largely agree with this.  I think as a fourball they would deserve to be favourites though so it is in the price to an extent.

This is aftertiming - obv if the actual odds had been available questions could have been asked, but they weren't.  No one came up with the likely odds of a tie, which was the only logical basis to question the bet.

I suggested 5/1 was a conservative price estimate when i did the probability calculations yesterday.  They don't vary much tbh so they aren't that difficult.  they are always going to be in the 9/2-6/1 range with the possible exception of the very late games in the singles when agreed ties are a bit more likely.

well I asked if anyone knew the likely shape of the odds when considering the 2.5/1.5 bet and was met with stony silence.

I did eventually download one of those million line excel files from betfair and got some info.

The point I'm making is that the precise doubt with the bet is that the market consensus is 6-1 or so (and seems like it has been in past years) despite the stats.  Obv if you have a derivative bet that requires the odds to be 9/2 the market says 6-1, its unlikely to be value.  No one made that point emphatically.

For reference, 31 boundaries in that England win.

Thanks Rich. I'm now wondering if it is worth going low (boundaries) in the other game.

Probably not, a bit iffy.

We have started the day with a £20 loss, as England eased past New Zealand.

Wouldn't have him in the team

Bairstow or Buttler can keep

We have better options up top..whether thats Lumb in or Wright to open and add a middle order player.

Carberry
Trescothick
KP
Bell
Shah
Prior
Napier
Macarenhas
Tredwell
Anderson
Onions

Who would your money be on? that team or the current one?

More re-shufflage of the Posh defence...

Tommy Rowe makes his first start of the season, Knight-Percival, who's a rabbit, is in the middle with Craig Alcock, who's a shortish full-back, while Mark Little, who isn't a defender, goes again at right-back.

Zakuani and Nthle both dropped to the bench. Ridic.

Another hatful coming I'm afraid.

£20 Hull to score 3.5+ @ 21/5 with Sportingbet.

Prior should be opening and keeping for me. He's an excellent keeper and a good enough limited overs batsman.

Having 3 keepers in the side is silly, though, I agree. The other shout would be Bell and not because I'm a biased Warks boy.

Wouldn't have Anderson or Onions in a T20 side. Napier, Mascarenas aren't good enough now at this level IMO.

Napiers bowling massively underrated generally but agree nowhere near good enough at this level and would be the worst number 7 in international history

I am just making the point really, England have plenty of T20 options not even in the squad

Prior being the most baffling to me.

In respect of what is available, I'd pop Lumb in for Kieswetter, have a left right combination up top and hand the gloves to Bairstow

England tried to make someone their Gilchrist- it cost Prior his place, he is fine as a number 6 in ODIs and 20/20. Kieswetter is an average keeper and an average bat- his record is average and always will be as he is basically performing to his ability and shouldnt be in the squad let alone team

Over 3.5? Are you MAD?

Sigh.

And jeez, that Sporting Bet website site is just horrendous by any yardstick.

Bet is placed, under duress, protest, & some other things.

I never name the owners of losing bets in the Daily Report, but as it's you, I may make an exception.

You up there, or thrashing it round the St Neots 9 hole Municipal today?

We have £20 @ 9/2, Hull to score OVER 3.5 goals, with Sporting Bet. I can barely believe I have done this......
