In a less than liquid market on Betfair, the Wall is currently 1/10 for top Indian Batsman!

If Hadrian can get this century, I think he'll be something like 350 not out.

Wonderful. A star is born.

He has now batted 14 hours unbeaten

He has faced 1300 balls in Test Cricket, and only got out to 8 of them

He is now over half way to the Test Record for time at the crease without being dismissed, which is Chanderpaul in 2002, over 27 hours across various innings....

India are 4/7 best as I type

Anything over 250 is too many in the absence of complete England batting heroics

Mr Tighty. Bearing in mind the pitch I believe that a fair amount of luck will be needed to survive the spin attack. What about small interest for top England batsmen Patel and Prior at 10's and 8's.

Agreed

Cook is of course no price, but has worked out his game out there. Play three shots, cut out sweeps, play it late...

It's too early to expect Compton to do it

Haven't seen Trott address his technique against spin (hard hands)

KP? Can he keep his ego in check and resist going for one shot too many?

Haven't seen Bairstow against sub continent spin.

Patel can play spin, Prior too

The latter two have the likely advantage of batting against the old ball, whereas the top four have to survive three spinners with a new one, bouncing like a tennis ball

Go for it, Oracle of Pujara.

hector

You can get 10 Prior, 12 Samit

If you could see yourself hypothesising a collapse to 80-7, you could see Swann biffing 40 or so at 66-1 for the real banzai.

Close of play

266-6 swings it to India

Pujara now has over 350 runs in the series, not out and is 200 ahead of his nearest Indian batsman. Hector62 7-1, everyone, Hector62

India best 4/9 and well placed to go 2-0 up which is handy for 4-0 at 16-1

Anderson 1 wicket but struggling in the top bowler market against Swann and Panesar

Bell top batter looks hugely unlikely

Pujara already favourite for this man of the match. Ashwin and Ojha heroics needed for that one, though it has elements of a freeroll

Thread is £55 up on this series after the first match

This is a phenomenal looky-like goal from yesteryear.

Tighty seems to agree, so make me an offer........

12s and 10s best price.  Problem is the support comes from 8, 9, 10 and 11 if they are to top score, and it is also contingent on a top order collapse.  So assume we get the top order collapse, your man is on 30 and Panesaar comes to the crease.  Just don't think it is value and is just priced about right.

A better option may be to put up on the any other batsman market on Betfair.  I guess someone will take it and you effectively get Bairstow, Swann and Anderson for free for much the same price as just backing your two.

But all this looks like pressing the thread book, which I don't think we need to do.

The above is not a thread bet for me, just a better way of betting somebody else's recommend.

Go on England.
