From Tips by Tighty
note to self
http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/tranmere-rovers-fc/tranmere-rovers-news/2012/12/13/tranmere-rovers-fc-boss-ronnie-moore-calls-for-a-return-to-clean-sheets-at-sheffield-united-100252-32417549/
Moore calculates he will have just enough fit senior players to fill the team sheet on Saturday.
Look for Sheff U at Evens if they get there
http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/league-1/sheffield-utd-v-tranmere/winner
Think the fred needs to back this one too as Ive been told Utd are at full strength and Tranmere are down to the bones ...best price is now 19/20 @ sporting bet
or hills and there is money for Utd...I recomend £100 to win £95... just do it for once !
Thanks Fraser.
I read that Kevin McDonald is "very doubtful" for Sheff Utd, (just as he was in the play-off against Huddersfield.....), so I'm not sure that Utd are "at full strength". He is quite important to them, I understand. Bobby1 may have a view, too, he's a regular at Brammall Lane I believe.
I'll have a ponder, but it will not be £100, not in a million years, that is way too much for us (I'm pretty sure Tighty recommended a lot less) given that the price is about right, maybe a touch on the generous side. We may have a small investment though.
Whether we do it or not, I very much hope it wins for you.
Remind me, please, to save me scrolling through Fred, is this Tighty's recommend, or yours? We have to give each bet an owner.
I do think Utd may well win, & perhaps win well, but most of the news is in the price, is it not?

Morning Mr T.
I have done my deliberations with my coffee and have decided to throw away my nit cap for the day. I can't decide on the Treviso game so that will be left to Mr Tightend to consider some more. I am not against it at all but I have something else I prefer.
I want to suggest 2 small bets on the Leinster/ Clermont game. Low points and extremely close tense game will be the manner of the day so we will do the draw and no try scorer bets.
For the other bet I am going to go with Ospreys to beat the mighty Toulouse. Everyone knows I like to bet against travelling Frenchies, especially when the weather is bad. Ospreys are not world beaters but they will play with a ton of passion and Toulouse are missing Luke McAllister ( one of my favourite players ). I can see a score of something like 17-15, talk about putting head over the top of the trench. Ah well it's all a hoot.
Leinster/Clermont Draw £5 @ 22/1 Bet Victor
£5 No try scorer 14/1 W Hills
Ospreys to beat Toulouse £20 @ 3-1 Sporting Bet
Afternoon hector.
Throw away your nitty hat? Say it ain't so! Must be the Advent Calender effect.
What sort of coffee do you deliberate over - proper coffee - "motorway latte" - I hope?
Some proper banzais there. Be great if you could get the Rugby Union 4-timer. Onion job, that. On my way, it will take me a while to load that lot up, bear with me......

Quick question hector, & pardon me if I have got confused here, but......
That "No Try Scorer" bet, which Wm Hill go 14/1.
Paddy Power go 12/1, BUT have this "Special" today......
If the first try is scored by a forward, we will refund all losing try scorer bets on the
match
.
The conditions are......
"
Applies to single bets placed before kick off only.
Applies to 1st tryscorer, last tryscorer, 1st team tryscorer, anytime tryscorer,1st tryscorer insurebet, to score two or more tries and to score three or more tries.
Applies to win part of each way 1st tryscorer bets only.
Max refund E100/£100 per customer per match.
Paddy Power Rugby rules apply".
Is it worth going this route, rather than the straight 14/1 (2 points better) with Wm Hill?

Hi Hector,
I was out in Toulouse last week for the Ospreys game and they matched them for 40 minutes up front although their line outs were shocking. The one thing I will say about this bet is the Ospreys are struggling at tight head and Campbell Johnstone is nowhere near match fit. He was great for the first half but blew up in the second and the Ospreys were lucky not to concede a couple of penalty trys once the Toulouse scrum started to get on top. I see Adam Jones is on the bench, he wasn't last week, but I'm not sure if they will use him unless Johnstone collapses.
Also the Ospreys are without their two starting second rows and their line outs last week were pretty shocking.
Good luck with the bet, I think I'd need a lot more than 3/1 to go with the Ospreys.
I have had a tickle on Kahn Fotualli to score a try anytime at 6.50. He was very impressive last week, nicked a cheekily taken tap penalty to score and looked a real danger.
All the best.

Doncaster to win League 1
at the moment they are joint top with 40 points
Top play 3rd today so they could be top 5pm tonight
Robbie Blake plays poker in Gala Leeds most night and has been telling everyone to back them for a while, a few of the players have backed them at 40/1
they have played all the good sides away from home now and nobody has scared them so far
price at the moment 9/1

Utah Jazz -2 vs Memphis Grizzlies.
Jazz are phenomenal at home boasting a 9-1 record so far this year and have beaten some very good teams. The only team they have lost to was LA Clippers by 1 point. Last year they had a 25-8 record at home, one of the best in the entire NBA. Utah was actually voted the 2nd toughest place to play at by all the GM's, the fans are right on top of you and really get behind their team as its the only home team they really have in Utah (other than football) players feed off the fans energy and really put a shift in for the crowd.
Grizzlies are in the middle of a road trip and have lost their last 3 games, Utah isn't the ideal place to be playing right now for them.
Utah shoot 48% at home and hold opponents to just 37% shooting on average. Memphis play good defence though so I don't expect this to be a blow out, but if it is a really close game I expect the fans to power the Jazz home to a 5-7 point victory.
In for 4 units Utah Jazz -2
Going back to Jaffacakes Cavaliers suggestion, the line has moved to +10 BUT it looks like Carmelo is going to be rested.
http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketball/knicks/knicks-plan-sit-injured-melo-cavs-article-1.1220629
I don't know how much jaffa likes the bet, I like it a little not alot as NYK are just playing really well as a team. No Carmelo is a huge blow though of course.

Had a look at weekend football.
Feels tough to find alot of value.
I like Yeovil at Walsall - they are 11/5 with Boyles.
I think they should be shorter. Yeovil have won at places like Crawley in the recent past. Walsall are struggling and have lost their captain Andy Butler who is suspended.
I'd recommend a small bet, say £15-£20.
Perhaps Tighty has a view on this ??
Looked at this, couldn't trust Yeovil enough
My two for the shortlist are as follows
1.
my bet for this weekend is Rochdale to win at Aldershot
Best price is 7/4 at Bet365 and I have £25 on
http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/league-2/aldershot-v-rochdale/winner
Aldershot have won 1 of 10 games at home, losing 7. Lowest scorers in the League at home, 3 goals
Rochdale have won 5 of 10 away, only losing 3
Rochdale have however lost three on the trot, which probably accounts for being 7/4 in a spot. They badly need a win to stay on the coat tails of the play-offs
Last week Rochdale lost 3-2 at home to Exeter, having been 3-0 down and down to 10 men. They had 67% possession in that match.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20564884
I'll take my chances that 7/4 is a decent price here given the poor quality of the opposition.
This will be going on the Nits thread/Tips4tikay tomorrow if 7/4 remains
and

Thanks Rich.
I was only reminded of this by the "urgent promptings" of Fraser this morning.
You have not suggested stakes, & so I'm assuming they are your usual 1 or 2 Unit affairs.
I missed a bit of value, too, but they are just about still do-able I think. McDonald is missing for Sheff Utd, I doubt you were aware of that at the time, so another reason (excuse....) to that one small, too.
Aldershot to beat Rochdale, £25 @ 8/5, BetVictor.
Sheff Utd to beat Tranmere, £20 @ 19/20, Wm Hill.

Thanks Tom, I'll do that after the Newcastle-City battering (I'm watching, great match) has ended.
I'll probably do Jaffa's bet, too, with Carmelo injured/resting, it looks a better bet now.

Mr T I was out purchasing some mince pies so I missed your query. If not too late then I am not sure of the best option anyway, it would take a sharper mind than mine to work it all out and I would rather trough a mince pie. As regards the coffee, I am a bit of a perfectionist in that there are only 2 coffees that I really like and they are both instant, Carte Noire and ordinary Nescafe, only have half a cup at a time and it must be boiling hot and in a suitable coloured/shaped mug.

OK, we are now on at 14/1, validation to follow after I have finished watching the Newcastle - Man City game.

Bugger.....
I will reverse it/sort it shortly, sorry.
More haste......
Saturdays on here are so busy.
Just realised, I have not executed your Leicester - Treviso Under 37.5 bet suggestion. Looking good, too, 7-0 after 20 minutes.

Note to Mere.
The bet on Aldershot to win is cancelled.
I will transfer it to my bulging off-thread misclick file. Which, bizarrely, is almost break-even at present!

Ospreys lead 9-6 at half time.
In the Leicester game I missed, (under 37.5) there are 17 points on board at half time,
