I like the ink, FWIW. Is that Kap's back?

Apparently so, yes.

Pretty incredible backpiece, that.

Celebrity tattooist Kat von D got engaged to the D.J. Deadmau5 today by Twitter. I imagine there is nothing more closely connected to your mind, Tikay, so apologies for boring you with duplication.

Dave Webb, David Harvey, Bonetti, Mick Jones, John Hollins, Ron Harris, Terry Cooper and Paul Madeley are all pictured in the Old Trafford 70 final replay

The match was brutal. i was reading a match report of it today and the journalist wrote

"The match was especially violent" and this is by 1970 standards

One modern ref was asked to look at it and reckoned by modern rules the game would ahve finished 6 a side!!

NFL game sounds brilliant, Camel. Only trouble for me is that the London game normally clashes with the International Poker Open in Dublin. A group of us go over every year so that would be a No if it clashes.

The IPO is usually the weekend of my birthday, which is why I don't go.

That isn't the same as the weekend of this NFL game.

Sounds positive then.

Maybe because there are two London NFL games in 2013 they have changed the "traditional" date?

Just checked, this year the NFL game was the week after the IPO. (IPO was second last weekend of Oct, NFL game was the last weekend)

But as I said I will need the ticket money in advance, so if you don't want to risk it, fair enough.

Just heard Big Bucks and Al Ferof out for season. Not sure if any truth?

It is on the sporting life website quoting Paul Nicholls.  Ryanair and world hurdle markets suspended on Betfair.  Bad news, we need the best horses running.

I was unable to watch the 49-ers game - cliffs anyone?

Fred has a goodly sum invested in the 49-ers to win Superbowl, as follows......

£150 @ 6.8

£100 @ 8.4

Current prices......

http://www.oddschecker.com/american-football/nfl/superbowl/winner

Also, can someone explain to me - use short words please - why last night's result was so good for our 49-ers bet, please?

The crucial part of the win was that it took the 49ers back above Green Bay into 2nd place in the NFC conference. 6 teams qualify for the play offs in each conference but the vital bit is that the top 2 seeds in each get a bye in the first week of the play offs. So if you finish 3rd to 6th you have to play one more game to get to the Superbowl than the top 2. Seed 1 means you play all your play off games at home and you play the weakest seed left in each round, seed two means you play at least one play off game at home. If for example seed 1 get knocked out in their first play off game seed two are now the highest seeded team they then get to play their 2nd play off game at home.

So the difference between 3rd and 2nd and 2nd and 1st is big. If San Fran now win their last two games they will have at least the 2nd seed with Atlanta needing to win just 1 game to take the number 1 seed, the 2nd seed is the one that was up for grabs going into their game last night. What complicates it is the other 2 Div winners that aren't in the top 2 seeds play their first play off game at home, San Fan play Seattle away next weekend, if they lost last night than Seattle had a chance to take the top spot with a win next week. Now San Fran need to win only one of their last 2 games to win the Division. With a loss last night they would have been behind Green Bay in the standings so GB would wrap up a top 2 seed with two wins, so San Frans win was huge.

The reason it affected almost all the top teams from a betting point is with the loss New England, who were favs to win the whole thing going into the weekend are now down the 3rd in their conference after Denver's win. So instead of winning and being in the important 2nd seed spot they now face an extra game to get to the Superbowl if they end the season with seed 3 to 6, and both Denver and New Eng have 2 games left they should win comfortably so New Eng might get stuck in 3rd now.

So Denver and Houston both got shorter in the betting as they benefited from the 49ers win even tho they are both in the opposite Conference. Green Bay got a little bigger because San Fran went above them and Seattle have gone from needing to win next week to top the Div if San Fran had lost to needing help to win the Div so they got bigger again after shortening after their win last night. It also raised questions as to how strong the AFC conference is this year with the top teams in the standings coming from v poor Divs. The 49ers Div features three good teams with the top 2 very good or better so the form line in the NFC might be stronger, which again makes a difference in the market.

Next weeks game is San Fran at Seattle, as we have mentioned before that is a v v tough place to be an away team, esp so next week.

So the win gave them a buffer in the Division, tho they still might need to hold on to the 2 seed with wins in their last 2 games. What was equally important was the performance of king Kap tho. New England are a top team on O but poor on D, what San Fran were with Smith at QB was a great D team with a serviceable QB making their O only good. Kap has raised their O to a whole new level so they are a more complete team with the upgrade at QB. He has a stronger arm which has helped the wr stretch the field deep, which helps the run game a lot and he is a tremendous runner too which makes the entire O more potent, the question was could he do it against a big team in tough conditions in a crucial game and he abs nailed it.

I can't remember looking forward to a game more than the Seattle San Fran game next week. Seattle are coming off 2 50 point games where their oppos have complained they were trying to humiliate them by still trying to score when miles clear. Their QB Wilson is also a rookie and has similar attributes to Kap but prob not quite the arm but is a great runner too, he had 92 rushing yards and three TD's in last night s win. Their D is also very good so it will be another huge notch for Kap if he wins a crucial game away against a good D in hostile atmosphere.

Remember the shambles of the Seattle v Green Bay game  Tony when the back up officials gave Seattle a winning TD as time expired because their man caught the man that caught the ball in the end zone,it is now even more crucial when you look at the standings and could add another win to the the GB column and take a win off Seattle's total.

Don't suppose BadBeat has any info on when it is..?

I posted it before I had finished mate, the next two weeks will be really fascinating, esp in the NFC conference as their are going to be some good teams fail to make the play offs because there are so many good teams, the bottom end of the AFC conference has had a bit of an after you Claude few weeks with big teams falling apart a little.

To see how good Kap and Wilson were yesterday the link below will give you the highlights from the games if you just click on the scores.

We are on the Wade Hudson darts, we need Under 5.5 x 180's.

Wade leads 2-0 in sets, but there have been 4 x 180's already.

Think we need Wade to close it out quickly if we are to stand a chance. One (180) time.....
