http://www.doncasterroversfc.co.uk/news/article/going-for-it-555988.aspx

"We would like it known, that we are going all out for promotion this season and at the Board meeting this week, Dean Saunders was given our full financial support to go out there and bolster the squad for a full out assault on the league."

Doncasters board is worth around 500m, been semi gun shy before but times could be changing.

Recomend £20 @ Best price (143/10). Oddschecker hasnt changed. This was announced at 7:30pm. Leggggggggggggggggo

Could you imagine the reaction today if you referred to a player in the Great Britain team as being from Ireland?

Cliffs on A Modest Proposal: Swift pens a solution to the Irish potato famine: eat babies. He does it in such a way as almost to make it plausible. Rich in perspicacity, it is a satirical treasure.

I don't think it would cause too much of a problem. Jackie Vernon was Northern Irish and so from (the island of) Ireland & he was from the United Kingdom as Northern Ireland is contained in that institution.
Politically, Northern Ireland is not a part of Great Britain so technically speaking he should have been on the Rest of Europe side with Republic of Ireland player Johnny Carey, or failing that, the Great Britain side should have been called The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (but that's a little wordy!).

Why does Team GB use GB instead of UK?

The team is actually GB & NI, which is pretty much the UK..

Our UNDERS bet on tonight's Glasgow - Edinburgh rugby is a bit uphill.

28 points on the board after 54 minutes.

Next winning bet...Wycombe Wanderers v Bradford - both teams to score 4/5 with Stan James £50 (4/6 elswehre, only reccomeded at 4/5)

Quite simply - its too big.  Bradford have score din there last nine games and 4/5 last away games.  They got early goals at Brentford in midweek - then proceeded to let 4 in.  Wycombe hav rutnred a corner - scored in last 5 games at home and are finding the net more and have more confidence.  The way these markets are priced up these days, with many 4/6-4/7 shots for this type of match (bottom half at home v high flying away) - it is imo too big.  Compare with Spurs v Stoke 4/6 or Wihan v Arsenal - 8/13 tomorrow I know which of the three I would like to be on.

Lets go 2/2 on my favoured lower leagues

Really like RVB@11/10 +6.5 180's with blue sq, in his match today.

It's generally a 4/6 shot yet we get odds against.

Our hero is throwing great right now and is peppering the red bit like a goodun.

He had 8 in his first round stroll over 3 sets, while in this match versus the gritty Dolan we could easily see 5/6 sets over the best of 7 format.

Can't see how he won''t beat the line should we see 5+sets, imo the only danger is a 4-0 whitewash curtailing the match time.

Recommend about a ton on this at this price, doubt price will last long tho imo, yet i'd still back this at 5/6-10/11, just for less.

I posted on here about donny winning the league on here last week it was 9/1 then  really people so be getting on this before jan transfer window IMO

Also on my way to the Wycombe game now I really like that bet to (am on it) I can see us scoring early but think we will stil let in a few goals late on

We played Southend last Saturday was 2-0 up and it finished 2-2 , I can't find the odds for over 3.5 goals have a look at that as it could easy finish 2-2 or 3-2 bradford or Wycombe

Thanks Bud.

They drifted to 14/1, & are now 12/1.

I believe it was recommended by someone else, too.

I'll work through the thread shortly & try to see what's what.

I checked oddschecker and this didn't show up so assumed the price was long gone. Checked their site and it's still there. Prices are the wrong way round. Probably an account killer though.

Ha! NO CHASING. Wink

Seriously, it would be nice to turn a profit in December, but it is like a Balance Sheet really, when we strike figures end of day/week/month/year it is really just a snapshot of where we stood at that moment.

Balance Sheets are always struck at midnight on a specific date, almost always end of month or year, but really, we can take that "snapshot" at any moment of any day.

Weird things, Balance Sheets, too. Some folks just read the numbers, but the key is to read between the lines, as Balance Sheets can be very deceptive.

Cash is the prime thing to observe, but most businesses chase debtors at the end of the month to boost Cash at Bank, & send out invoices at a minute to midnight to boost the debtor line, and only PAY their bills AFTER the balance sheet has been struck, thus preserving (artificially) Cash at Bank.

So a profitable company starved of cash can & often does go bankrupt, whilst a loss-making company with good cash control can survive almost indefinitely.

PS - Ignore all that tosh I just wrote, I had a bit of a moment there, a flashback to when I was in business.

As you were.

Thanks Dom.

That bet is probably too good to be true!

We have had a small interest, because a) If we bet big, it may damage our account prospects, & b) They would only allow me £30!

Note the bet is no longer shown on Oddschecker, but they ARE still offering it. I would urge caution to folks getting on though, see the Post by Bazzaboy.

We have £30 @ 11/10, Blue Square, RVB to get OVER 6.5 x 180's tonight.
