Read the last few pages of the thread and still got no clue what the best bet is for the 365 offer

Tempted to jump on the Millidonk wagon and go Man U win/win.

Haven't caught up with all of Fred, so if others have reccomended I apologies; I know Tighty has given his read on the Bet 365 deal - however here is mine.  Assuming we buy into the fact that Real Madrid are too short at 4/7 with 365 I plan to do the following:-

£50 Man Utd Asian +1 at 2.050

As game kicks off - £50 Man United - tradityional handicap +1 currently 7/5 - this is the free bet treated that is refunded if it is a loser

So basically, if I have this right

If Man U win or draw - stake £100, return £222.50
If Real win by one goal - stake £100, return £100
If Real Madrid win by 2 or more stake £100 return £50 free bet

Look good to me albeit a bit nitty

It is a relatively fair system imo.  I seem to remember back in the day when they were trying to figure out a system for Betfair that was fair to both bettor and layer they found that if anything it was slightly unfair to the bookies in certain spots but I may have that wrong.

A five horse race where they bet 1/5, 4/1, 100/1, 100/1, 100/1.

If the 1/5 shot gets withdrawn you'd effectively get Evens about the 4/1 chance, when it should be about 1/6!

Unless I am misreading this, if Real Madrid win by one goal, then half the Asian HC bet is refunded, but will not trigger the refund of the £50 loser bet

Btw, been following racing too many years, and only seen this dream scenario twice that I can remember.

Once it was a 3 horse race where they were betting 1/8, 10/1, 10/1

The 1/8 shot got withdrawn meaning they were effectively betting 5/2 each of two in a match race

I don't see why SAF will be guaranteeing goals. Its a first leg, he needs to bunker down and play on the counter. All the "it won't finish 0-0" is for Mourinho's benefit. Just watch him double Ronaldo and ask Real's other players to beat him. They might, of course.
