Merde! Surely the noun must be 'unknown(s)' though, no?

'I stand (semi) corrected', said the man in the orthopaedic brogues.

EDIT: Apologies for spelling-based digression, thoroughly unnecessary....

Unknown and unknowable mean different things though.

Open Questions

How motivated are Chelsea going to be in the Europa tonight in Prague?

Are they really odds-on shots in this first leg?

This is Sparta's first match after a month long winter break I believe, Not sure that is relevant

Sparta unbeaten in 11 European home games. Not sure that is relevant either

Cech plays with a broken finger. Again, may not matter

Chelsea then?

Sorry my job (and my personality) make me an instinctive smart-arse when it comes to this kind of thing.

Haha, not a problem at all. Lest we not forget it was I who first stuck my oar in so entirely self-inflicted!!

1-1 in the snooker.

As vegaslover & Tighty have noted, there may be value in some of these early round matches.

Please note no bets can be placed for this evening after 6pm, as I will not be available.

Afternoon

For months I was happy to be on the side of Tidal Bay for the Gold Cup, but he was taken out a couple of days ago by the dastardly Nichols.

We have got Sir Des Champs in the value seeking Chelt yankee.

However a couple of weeks ago I was privvy to some info as a result of representing Roger Brookhouse at Wincanton. When I asked the Head Lad and stable hands individually for the stable big hope for Cheltenham, to a man they said Captain Chris.

Now this has never been any sort of favourite of mine, but these boys were very enthusiastic. At this point I was convinced the Bobs Worth line of form was the one to row in with. Since then with SDC and Flem reversing form and it all linking in with BW and TB, it seemed a bit messy.

The other line of form involves Sil Conti/Long Run/TGB/Captain Chris.

With SC beating Long Run a few lengths and LR only getting back up close home to beat CC on ground CC hates in the King George, the relative prices seems well out of line with LR at and CC at 25s.

Add in the fact CC has a decent Cheltenham record(Arkle winner/4th in Ryanair) and a preference for decent ground, and the glint in the eye of the Hobbs team, with CC about to run on Saturday, it seems worth a bet with Victor. If he wins he gets cut, if he loses all likelihood he wont run in GC.

Hope you all kept up?!

Recommend £10ew NRFB Captain Chris Gold Cup 25-1

Thanks Adzy.

As a general rule, I studiously avoid tips by connections, due to the RTG effect, but I'm sure you know what you are doing, so we have had a tenner ew.

We have £10 EW, 25/1, Wm Hill, Captain Chris, Cheltenham Gold Cup.

ON

13 Mar 2013 - 15th Mar 2013 - Cheltenham Gold Cup - Outright

Captain Chris @ 25/1  EW @ 1/4 1-3

Stake : £20.00 (£10.00 x 2)
Estimated Returns : £332.50Transaction Reference:O/0457483/0000263/F

I hear ya Mr T. When your best friend is son and right hand man of one the countrys biggest owners, and you get every inside word on them there is, I made a conscious decision to never stick their horses on here.

Having looked at all the factors CC was a "value" pick, the inside word, just made me feel a little better about it.

Oh Dear. You put it on with WH Tikay?

Bet was with VC as stated to take up the Non Runner Free Bet get out of jail clause.

Sorry, I should have added it again at the end.

Transaction Reference:O/0457483/0000263/F

this prob isnt funny to most people, but it tickled my sense of humour.
putting a bet on for a 3 1/4 mile chase  and getting a reference with what looks like 4 seasons of bad form figures and big F at the end would make me think fml  lol, good luck with the bet, 'fred' is ticking along nicely this month Tikay, and deff agree about taking tips off stable staff, they are usually hopeless tipsters.
