Hills giving me grief.....

Ian: Hi, you’re speaking to Ian. How may I help you?
Scott Campbell: Hi Ian.
Ian: Hi Scott.
Scott Campbell: Trying to place a bet on Long Run at the enhanced 10/1, got offered £10 which is fine after asking for £20 so I came out of the bet and deposited £10 to place the bet and now it is only offering 7/1 saying that I have already had the £10 on, which I haven't.
Scott Campbell: That make sense?
Ian: Bear with me, please.
Scott Campbell: of course
Ian: Thank you.

Ian: I apologise for any inconveniences caused.
Scott Campbell: Tis ok, can I get the bet on now?
Ian: Since you cannot see the offer, you will not be able to place the bet for it.
Scott Campbell: No, I can see the offer
Ian: You may still see it, however you will not be able to take advantage of it.
Scott Campbell: Bear with me, let me explain and you'll understand......
Ian: Scott, if the system does not allow you to place the bet on the enhanced price, there is nothing we can do for that.
Scott Campbell: I had no money in my account, I wanted to check how much I could get on before I deposited, so I clicked the 10/1 Long Run and asked for £20, it said I can have £10 @ 10/1 and the other £10 @ 7/1, so I cancelled the bet off to go and deposit £10, which I did, clicked the 10/1 and tried to place the £10 bet but your system thinks I have already had the £10 as it offered it to me earlier. I get this message........
Ian: I do understand that.
Ian: Unfortunately, we cannot amend that in any way.
Scott Campbell: You have already had the maximum allowed at this price.
Scott Campbell: it's a system error though sir
Scott Campbell: it thinks I've had the bet
Ian: You may try placing a smaller amount.

Ian: If you cannot place the bet, we cannot help you with that.
Ian: That is final, I am afraid.
Scott Campbell: lol, final

So my dream of having a tenner @ 10/1 is over.

I omitted to mention the first Test between New Zealand & England, where we have some interest.

I blame Tighty for not giving us his 30 year rainfall projections.

So we now have a tipster called Fred Sheet or Sheet Fred?

Sounds like he should be a character in a Carry on punting film.:-)

I have amended the Cheltenham Update, the first Long Run wager was down to Doobsy, not Karabiner, as the wisened old veteran has just pointed out to me.

Could have been bettter....

As ever with Radio & TV, there is never enough time to do justice to the subject at hand. We tried to review 8 races I think, had nice ATR clips & so on, but there was not really time to do the stuff I had wanted to do.

I did not exactly shine, but if we had longer, I'd have probably made an even bigger fool of myself.

Enjoyed the change though.

I wanted to tell a few Golden Miller & Dorothy Paget tales, & somehow squeezed them in later. Miss Paget, & Golden Miller, were both quite remarkable. I really could write a book on the pair of them.

I think I was right in saying that Golden Miller was the only horse ever to win the Cheltenham Gold Cup and the Grand National in the same season. Nobody disputed it, so I'm counting that one. Wink

Norrrr, say it ain't so! Can I have this rebuff result added to my career stats please?

Shambolic lack of research by me on the Robin Stjernberg situation...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melodifestivalen_2013
For anyone that's backed Sweden, though, whoever gets through Melodifestivalen will have a good chance in the ESC. They have some decent songs in there relative to the rest of the garbage in this year.

So this is NOT a bet now, correct?

Dare not miss another Chompy tip, you'd change your Sig, Avatar, & all sorts.

A chap called Micheal Shinner, who is the Sky Bet PR chap. The whole thing, obv, was an SB&G exercise really, so was a bit sort of constricted. I could not say "yeah, Hills go 10/1 Long Run, get on"......Wink

Fun? You bet. Chuffed to bits to try my hand at something new at my age.

The ATP Indian Wells Event is underway

http://www.oddschecker.com/tennis/atp-indian-wells/mens-bnp-paribas-open/winner

The draw can be seen via

http://www.bnpparibasopen.com/Scores/Draws.aspx

I read an article last night that pointed out that Murray and Djokovic were in the same half, seeded 1 and 3

Djokovic is 13-0 is Tour matches this year

Murray moves to world number 2 if he finals and Federer doesn't reach the semis

However, My attention is drawn to the other side of the draw, to see if we can see who might win that (minus Murray/Djokovic) and thus, with e/w being half the odds to make the final, provide some value

Federer this year is 10-3

His losses. Murray in the Australian semi,Benneteau in the Rotterdam Quarters. Berdych in the Dubai semis having lost after 3 match points

He is 11/2 to win this

So nearly 11/4 to win his half

His run to the final would be, in theory

Istomin
Benneteau
Wawrinka/Isner
Nadal
Ferrer/Berdych

Nadal is coming back from injury of course, and has won two minor events last out but as recently as 17 Feb withdrew from an event concerned about over-using the repaired knee.

With the betting odds skewed in this half by the two favourites being in the other, 11/2 e/w Federer looks reasonable to me

Recommend £15 e/w Federer to win the BNP Paribas/Indian Wells 11/2

The focus is the each/way part which would, if he wins his half, make the overall proposition profitable,  and a shot to nothing should he final
