Only Tighty could have done that.........

Fred will have to sit this one out, as we don't do Spreads at present, but thanks,  gotta love that.

Think he is great at anything that uses the mind.  I saw him play a hand in the old wsop trial in the concorde, think it was the biggest trny I'd played at that time, where the money the money went in on an AKx flop and he turned over his queens quite certain he was ahead, to be shown jacks.

I loved playing there, so many great times, & stories.

Think Simon Trumper won that E-WSOP one year.

Interesting. Yes there are a fair few chess/poker players. I don't count myself in it, tbh, as I'm not sufficiently skilled in either, let alone both.

There's the Big Slick darrrrn sarrrrrf and the old International, both of which promoted both poker and chess, to varying extents.

BTW, Aronian drew a harmless game and Carlsen is winning. We could be back in joint first at this rate.

Not sure what to make of being able to bet on how many sips he takes, I used to think the idea of betting on two drips of paint was total degen, this has to be up there.  Love it

Out of interest, what does a big swig/mouthful count as?

Was at Bury on sat, v v unlucky to lose.  Fans turned last 10 mins though, may be last chance gone, not beating a team with 10 men for 87 minutes.  Nothing on it personally tonight.

A sip is a swig is a mouthful for the purposes of this

Do not tell Millidonk about this bet. I want his daughter to be able to eat this week.

No action against McManaman. An official sort of saw the incident.

Ding Ding. Loonyville. Last stop. End of the line. Everybody off.

Very.

He appears to be 1.21 on Betfair now.

He almost scared Grischuk into making a mistake today. It was the oddest thing.

Still ten games to go but he is playing excellent chess and winning games. Can't be a bad thing.

Think Simon Trumper won that E-WSOP one year.

I only played there once, it was back in 2007 when Marty was still doing the Partypoker bit and they had the 'Partypoker European Challenge' there.

I went out with a couple other brits and about 20 others had travelled out to play as well. Marty's partner Kath played in it and made the final winning about €20k I think it was.  That was the first time I had the pleasure of meeting Stu Rutter as well, when we were both drawn on the TV table on day 2.

Bit of a nightmare in the end, I made day 3 and the other lads were flying back that afternoon. I ended up busting out with 3 tables left AK<AK but was about 1/2 hour too late to fly back with them and was stuck out there for another night after all but bubbling...

Nothing fancy about the place, but everything was very well run and it was the best structured tourney I've played outside the WSOP main event.

Memory lane now... From there I flew to Ireland for the Betfair tournament that was to be held at a hotel in Drogheda, that was until the police turned up and said they would shut the hotel down if they started the tournament.  Was quite a few brits there for that too, I remember Ash Hussein and Nick Slade being there too I think. Everyong got their buyin back, but were understandably aggrieved at having forked out for flights, hotels etc.
