Daily Summary, @ 0815, Wednesday March 20th

We made a profit of £60 yesterday.

One completed bet, one winner, perfect.

Dubai gave us a dog, once we reached the first bend the result was never in doubt, lovely, +£60.

One of our two Greyhound Derby selection ran, too, & he ran very well, but must be said, was beaten a long way by a spectacular animal, though peaking this early is not usually a good sign.

Two "form bets" were put up for football, Stevenage & Yeovil, both looked good things on paper at tempting prices, but both lost. The bookies generally know best.

We have £60 invested in today's Budget on three Novelty Bets. They all look good things on paper.....

Good news from New Zealand, where it seems Jimmy Anderson WILL be fit. Or so he says.

We are going along nicely.

We passed a major milestone in Fred history yesterday.

After 1,309 bets - a decent sample size - we not only have a ROI of 4.58%, but we have now made a pofit of.......

£2,028.08

This is the first time we have crossed the threshold of £2,000. Over £1,600 of this profit has come in 2013. In the last 3 months of 2012, we lost nearly £500.

4.58% ROI looks almost respectable, but we must keep our discipline, & try to press on to 5%.

A visit from the Mistress of Negative Variance is expected any time soon.

Suggestions on Twitter that Osborne will be opening a Twitter account today.
What price on Twitter to get a mention in the speech now?

!

I can barely believe our Chancellor of the Exchequer will descend to the levels of ".....and you can follow me on Twitter @OsborneChancellor" or whatever.

I'm really not sure that Churchill, Chamberlain or Gladstone would have approved.

Did you know (cue incoming geeky fact......) that there was a Chancellor of the Exchequer by the name of Julius Caesar?

No. Should it be?

I did take a rather nitty £5 @ 10/1 for myself this morning, I confess.

The 10/1 remains available.

It's far from a certainty but equally it's not a 10-1 shot. I'm tempted to open a Lads account just to put it on! Looks like a max £25 anyway, but I've seen many worse 10-1 shots - and backed them.

I've had a fiver on Twitter too now.  Liking my Hard Working Families bet even more after the reports this morning.  Don't think I've looked forward to a budget so much before Smiley

A fiver can't do any harm.  I don't think it is a certainty, but it is bound to be something at the front of his mind today?

Max was £11 for me

You actually think he has anything to do with that account? He might not even know it exists yet.
