We should have bet more

We would if we had not been restricted. So I looked around to see if I could find the price somewhere else, no luck, best available was 8/11 with Wm Hill. I could not resist having £55 on my own account!

The dimensions for this ground are ridiculous - the wicket keeper shouldn't be stood closer to the boundary than the stumps ffs.

Nice wicket though, hopefully we can get into them now.

Where have you been these past few weeks?

Fred has been nitting it up in the micros, playing just premium hands. Dubai turns up and, five minutes later, Fred is crushing the nosebleeds like Isildur on a heater.

Meanwhile, England have taken their daily wicket.

He plays poker the same way, too. Sometimes.

Makes me feel like giving up punting, I put so much effort into finding nitty little bets, and he strolls in, sticks up a few bets, even predicts the SP, job done.

OK, you got me.

We have these THREE bets, all down to, I think, Doobs, unless someone else suggested them previously, in which case, let me know & I'll amend, it is a job to keep up with this.

£20 @ 4/5, "Cyprus", with Ladbrokes.

£20 @ 2/1, "Hard Choices", with Ladbrokes

£20 @ 2/1, "Austerity", with Ladbrokes.

Don't forget, if someone else was in before Doobs, I'll amend if you let me know.

ON

Single - Cyprus
1 line at £20.00 per line
Total stake for this bet: £20.00
Potential Return: £36.00
Time: 19/03/13 10:46
Receipt No: O/142640973/0000293

  Single - Hard Choices
1 line at £20.00 per line
Total stake for this bet: £20.00
Potential Return: £60.00
Time: 19/03/13 10:46
Receipt No: O/142640973/0000294

  Single - Austerity
1 line at £20.00 per line
Total stake for this bet: £20.00
Potential Return: £60.00
Time: 19/03/13 10:46
Receipt No: O/142640973/0000295

Didn't see this at the time, but I didn't pick Cyprus, it was AndrewT, and horseplayer picked Austerity.  I mentioned Hard Choices first so guess that is down to me.

Net no real difference to me, but good for housekeeping.

Guess Dubai is top dog now?

I'll do this now as I'm in transit a bit tomorrow (yep, off to London).

Top left: Svidler v Carlsen
Foreground: Radjabov v Aronian

The danger man, Lev Aronian

Our man, Magnus Carlsen, plays Teimour Radjabov tomorrow/later today, and Radjabov has only managed two draws from his last 4 games after a lightning start. Would be super-swell if Carlsen were to reach the turn on 5/7 and super-duper-swell if he were to win and get 5½/7.

Aronian plays Grischuk, who has drawn every game apart from his loss to Carlsen. Aronian will look to play on the counter, I expect, so it will be an interesting game to watch, if Grischuk is in a game mood.

Carlsen and Aronian are 1½ points clear of the field and that will take some overhauling the way the two of them are playing.

That was the nut bad result!

Later, when England batted, Trott was out for.....27.

Anderson took 2 wickets....Finn took SIX.

Meanwhile.......

In the Australia - India Test, India, batting 2nd & chasing a big score, had Pujara as an opener - & he is 48 not out.

Win some, lose some.
