County Championship cricket begins in a fortnight
Last season's table can be seen at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_County_Championship
Middlesex were promoted to Div 1 and finished 3rd
One win and a couple of draws behind the winners, Warwickshire
This time round Warwicks are understandably favourites again
http://www.oddschecker.com/cricket/county-championship-div-1/county-championship-division-one/winner
strong all round side and going to be thereabouts with Someserset and Notts
Middlesex though should be a touch stronger than last year, having recruited Harris the England fringe seamer from Glamorgan to lead the attack with Roland-Jones in the likely absence of Finn. Furthermore the emergence of Joe Root seems to have tied up the England spot that Eoin Morgan had 18 months ago and he should be available a lot more this summer
Well coached (Fraser and Ramprakash), lots of depth in the squad, a result wicket much of the time at Lords....(up to 24 points for a win, a max of 12 ponts for drawing: need result games)
Middlesex are currently priced to come 5th-6th and see that as hugely pessimistic. Surrey are always shorter in ante-post markets than they should be, for example
If you don't mind tying the money up til September, heartily recommend £50 e/w Middlesex CC Div 1 15-2 PPower e/w 1/5 1,2,3
note. Heavy rollers are back into CC this year, so no getting stuffed on game by game strategic "no rollers are a nightmare for batsmen" recommendations when the summer never arrives, like last year
Confirmation of this one.
PP would only allow me £2.47, so I took a half-point loss & went with Betfred. Should be a terrific 6 month sweat if they start well.
We have £50 @ 7/1, Betfred, Middlesex to win the County Championship.

Lots of numbers and a pie chart about who is going to win the Candidates:

Monte Carlo simulations, indeed...

southgate one day may just offer an opinion
He is football equivalent of Steve Mellish!
Is he? We don't know, we just don't know.

Cannot have this.
Criticising the nicest and most knowledgeable bloke on RUK is just not on.
Would you rather watch Luke Harvey and Jason Weaver?

Hi tikay, would you mind if we built up a portfolio on the Wolrd Snooker Championship in April?
a) I'd like to suggest £2 each on three rank outsiders , with a view to trading back on any that give us a run?
These are
Jack Lisowski 200-1 in spots (BlueSq to save you searching)
Anthony McGill 680 Betfair
Kurt Maflin 550 Betfair
http://www.betfair.com/exchange/snooker/market?id=1.105777117&mpch=ads&rfr=63
All have to qualify for the Crucible, but all are very talented and in my mind top 16 players on a 1-2 season view
Lisowski's odds reflect that he has today beaten Trump 5-3 in China in a sensational game, and is I think guaranteed to only have to win one game to get to the Crucible.
Of the other hotpot, Luca Brecel he's at 80 and we've missed the price a bit
The aim is to get a run to the Crucible from 1 or more then hope they win a game..at which point we are laying back at 33s or running it, take a view then
2 Since last year we have been periodically discussing Trump for the Crucible
We know he tends to struggle to get motivated for minor tournaments, and his recent form has been poor by his standards
Today though he played well, just outdone by his training partner in a match where neither really missed a ball
Because of this form and results his price has drifted from 11-2 and 6-1 generall out to 7-1 in places and 8.2 on Betfair
http://www.oddschecker.com/snooker/world-championship/world-snooker-championship/winner
There are no more tournaments between China and Sheffiled, so this should be the extent of the drift.
Recommend £50 win Trump 2013 World Championship, taking the current minor liquidity above that 8.0 on Betfair and leaving the rest up to be matched
3 Notes
The 16 Qualifiers who get to the last 32 are random drawn to face one of the sixteen seeds
O'Sullivan has stated he is playing, so auto goes in as No 1 seed and is priced at a (barmy, I think) 15/2 having been out for year, albeit with tonnes of natural talent
At the end of the current China Open the seedings are calculated for Sheffield
Currently it would be
1 Ronnie
2 Selby
3 Trump
4 Higgins
5 Robertson
but this could change, with Trump and Higgins already out of China. Ideally Trump would go into Ronnie's half, if we are to back him, but this probably requires Robertson to go deep in China
All sorted, though not all at recommended prices, news of the Lisowski resulkt in China beat me to it, so we had to settle for 100/1.
We have.....
For the Snooker World Championship, we have....
£3 @ 100/1, Betfred, Jack Lisowski.
£50 @ 8, Judd Trump, Betfair
£3 @ 500.1, Anthony McGill, Betfair.
£3 @ 510, Kurt Maflin, Betfair.
All prices matched at average shown above.

Our Baseball bet tonight, Oakland & Cleveland.
It was tied 5-5 after the ninth, & they are playing the tenth now.
Are we still in play, or did we do a lose?

Could not agree more. Hard work but great fun, despite all my mistakes.
