In the winners column The Milkman correctly predicted a bounce-back from the Wires and a return to their recent malaise for the Saints for a profit of £20
In UFC160 Cerrone beat Noons on points for a profit of £37.50
Losers
We drew a blank on the Champions League final for a loss of £108. Bet365 bet down, Bayern Munich did not win to nil and most unluckily only three cards were brandished, and no red card, despite some evidence that on a different night we might have seen more notebook action.
The Italian referee continued the trend established by Howard Webb in the last World Cup final, where the Dutch team committed combinations of ABH-GBH and aggravated battery and still had 11 men on the field at the end. These referees are instructed to try not to spoil big occasions by Blatter, Platini and the like.
In UFC Dos Santos beat Hunt in the 3rd, and we had him to win in the first. Researching the result this morning I read that in the first round Hunt "survived a spinning drop kick that would have put a normal man to sleep" So I think that might go in the unlucky column too
Today is another big day where we may suffer the disappointment of getting Cavendish, a 2/5 shot, turned over in the Cycling. At £100, all eyes on the Giro D'Italia
The Monaco Grand Prix sees Rosberg on pole, and we have 8-1 e/w, trying to buck the recent Mercedes trend of fast one lap pace, and disappointing tyre performance in the race
We have Mumbai at 5-1 to win the IPL, final later against Chennai. I wonder what they have decided the result is?!
£140 at risk, or "invested" in those three events, so an important day to get a result or two running up to the end of May.
Elsewhere San Antonio went 3-0 with another overtime win over Memphis, and are "on the hill" in the best of seven Western Conference finals for a thread win
In County Cricket Middlesex eked out a draw with Durham to be second in LVCC1 and right in the mix for us. Rogers scored another 54 runs in the match. In LVCC2 only Worcestershire of the chasers put any pressure on Northants, who remain 25 points ahead
In the Test, the Swann bet will lose. Joe Root became the 10th England player to score a Test century at under 22 years of age
Looking at the other 9, he is in august company. They are....
Alistair Cook
Mike Atherton
Sir Ian Botham
David Gower
Sir Colin Cowdrey
Sir Peter May
Bill Edrich
Denis Compton
Sir Len Hutton
Mr Root could be breaking Alistair Cook's England batting records before long...
